I stayed here with some friends during a motorcycle trip of Japan. We were probably the only westerners staying there at the time and I'm not sure how often non-Japanese people stay here, but we were made to feel more than welcome and enjoyed emerging ourselves into a traditional Japanese Ryokan/Onsen experience.
The place was clean, cozy and comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was very good, but beware that it is very much on the Japanese spectrum rather than western. Toilets are shared, but clean and for a shower you will have to get over some prudishness and bare all to go to the onsen. But I can tell you that it is worth it. The onsen overlooks the near mountains and seeing a sunrise over the mountains from a hot mineral bath takes some beating. One of my favorite places to stay during this trip.More
