“Great place for kids”
Reviewed 4 June 2014 via mobile

This is a great place for kids . We saw wallabies ,2 deers, a fox, sheep, donkey, chickens and little chicks etc. My daughter got to collect eggs , milk a cow, ride a pony and feed many animals. It is just awesome. Just a reminder to buy some groceries before you come as there is not much dinning options near the farm.

We visited Lilydale farm for animal feeding & pony ride, for my son, As a fan of horses, I joined a horseride too. Was a relax & enjoyable ride with my son. We continued the animal feeding and was a great learning experience for my son. Its worth a trip, thou a takes a bout 1 1/2 ride from Goldcoast.

An 'awesome' weekend....as described by our two children (6 and 8)! We stayed in the Harper room and it had everything we needed...electric hotplate, microwave, fridge/freezer and a bbq - and a great courtyard with outdoor table / chairs (perfect to sit at with one's glass of wine to watch the world go by while the kids were off feeding the animals).

We all did the horse riding (trail ride) with Farmer Doug (all novices!), swam in the pool (since when is it 30 degrees in mid-April?), tractor ride, bonfire with marshmellows, visited local wineries, bought local food (olive oil, olives, wine, cheese), and explored out and about (Maroon Dam etc).

Kids of any age will love Lillydale but ours were at a perfect age....they spent hours feeding the animals and playing with dog, leaving the hubby and I to relax, sample the local wine and catch up with our reading (me) and exploring / fishing (hubby).

A huge thanks to Bec, Farmer Doug and Pam for looking after us :-)

Oh, and thanks to the Easter Bunny who left gorgeous farm animal Easter chocolates in the hen barn on top of a 20 foot pile of hay for the kids to discover whilst collecting eggs!

Room Tip: The Harper room is perfect for a family of 4 (although there is also a sofa bed for more people if n...

What an amazing couple of days. Feel like we have been away a week at least! Have not managed to enjoy a holiday that much before with 'two under two.' Have stayed in various farmstays around the world over time, and often felt like an addition to normal working life, but here at Lillydale, felt like our needs were met before we even knew it. Mindblowing scenery (cannot put a price on it), such friendly helpful staff, and everything thought of. Farmer Doug and family, you have managed to create a really special place just outside of Brisbane, that we have already recommended to many friends (with all ages of kids and without kids). Thank you so much. Everyone should see it to believe it!

Room Tip: Go for the eco cabin if you can. Priceless!

A very relaxing trip. My family had a very relaxing stay at the farm, the harper room was perfect. We had our meals outside with the cows for company! Even in his sleep, my son was saying he had to go and collect eggs! The horse ride was excellent, Bec was superb in leading the horse ride, and my son enjoyed it so much, he went on the ride twice!

We will defintely be back if we are in the Gold Coast.

A very good farm stay experience and strongly encourged to stay for a couple of nights when in the Gold Coast!

Loved the farmstay! Thanks to farmer Doug, Pam and Bec for making this stay one that gave us fond memories for many years to come. We are missing the farm already! My kids are still talking about the pony rides - BJ and Amber! We will definitely come back again!

Our most carefree family holiday! We were there for 3 nites in the Maroon Room and wished it was longer. The kids had great fun and were very well entertained by the animals, playground and the trampoline. The place was safe for them to roam around on their own whilst the adults relaxed. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals feeds and the pony rides with Bec. They rode 5 times!

Definitely a recommended place, more relaxing than any beach resorts. We'll love to be back!
