Loved our stay at Hostelerie St. Martin. Looked for a small town experience and found a treasure. Part of a Historical building surrounding a chateau in a quaint old town near Bayeaux and Normandy beaches. The Staff was fabulous, dinner delicious at a great price . Bed was average but room was charming. Would definitely recommend it!

Rented a family room with two doubles and a single, the single bed around the corner from the main room and all by itself (served as a second bedroom). Was very nice for my older daughter to have a "room" of her own.

Hotel/restaurant staff were great, minimal language barriers as most had a working knowledge of English combined with my pathetic attempts at French. The restaurant staff was exceptional, and made our dinner a wonderful experience. The price of dinner was about average for France, but the quality of the presentation and the serving sizes were top notch.

Parking is right next to the hotel, but can be full if near meal time. There is a larger lot next door that we parked in until the hotel lot was free. They locked the parking gate at night, so if you have an early morning make sure you let them know in advance.

There are two very good bakeries across the street, and we hit those for breakfast every day. Also a pizzeria directly across the street and a creperie/grill just down the street that was decent.

Overall, a good stay and would recommend to friends.

We enjoy visiting the normandy coast and have done so many times but this was our first stay at the St Martin. We always use Logis de France hotels then check on Trip Advisor to see the reviews. This hotel was only about 4 miles from the coast. The room was spacious with separate lounge area the only thing that some people might not like is the toilet was in the bedroom area and had no washing facilities in it, the shower room was in the lounge area - this didn't bother us as some French hotels do set their rooms out like this but it might bother some people. The food was such good value and of excellent quality, as said in previous reviews the staff seem to enjoy the flourish when they unveil the food. The village was a typical small French village with everything you really need. Small car park at the side of the hotel. The staff were excellent and friendly you really couldn't fault anything. The restaurant was always busy lunch time and evening even at the beginning of December, always a good sign when the local people use it regularly . Also there were numerous curios and artifacts to look at in all public rooms. We are hoping to return again in April.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years, either as a couple or with friends.

We would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who is looking for a typical, friendly village hotel with exceptional food. The owners are delightful and very helpful. The hotel is ideally placed for arriving at or departing from Ouistream

We look forward to visiting again in the not too distant future.

I have stayed at this hotel approx. 5 times with groups of cyclists and my own family, the hosts are great, nothing is too much trouble, the staff went out of their way to be helpful, the head waiter spent time playing with my baby daughter between serving customers. The food is excellent, the attention to detail and the way all the staff wait to unveil the dish with a flourish was something you do not see everyday.
All in all one of the best Hotels I have stayed at, not for its facilities but the atmosphere, the setting, the staff and the food. I could not find any fault on any of my stays here
As that bad actor says @''ll be back'

Room Tip: Give the Hotel you needs and they will be met if possible, their were in our case ...each time
