Berry Mill Cottages
Reviewed 27 October 2012

My husband was born in the Berry Mill house 50 years ago. So, we had planned a surprised stay for his birthday. Everything went according to plan. I said that I had won a price from work: a week-end in Ilfracombe. When we arrived near Berry Harbour I suggested that we pass to Berry Mill just to have a look. Jill acted as if she didn't know anything and offered a guided tour of the house. Then when she offered a drink my husband he refused saying that we needed to be in Ilfracombe by 6.00. That when I said: "I don't think so, Happy Birthday we are staying here" We stayed the night with my daughter, her partner and my grandson and my son, who all joined us later on that day. We had a lovely dinner and the next day an excellent cooked breakfast. My husband could explained how was Berrynarbor Park designed 50 years ago and we shown some pictures to the Jill and Gerry. It was an expensive but worth it experience, to be kept in our memories and Jill and Gerry were absolutely fantastic with us. You have to go and see by yourself. Excellent!

From the initial welcome to the sad farewell every need was catered for with genuine warmth combined with great company..
The massive breakfasts and incredible evening meals -( the Banana and cointreau crepe is highly recommended - orgasmic!!) have never failed to impress over the 5 visits we have made. Jill and Gerry have made all our stays both at Cobwebs Cottage and the House a truly wonderful and enjoyable experience....

Room Tip: All the rooms offer their own uniqueness!

Stayed in cobwebs. Good spacious large cottage. Basics all there but lacks some attention to detail. A basic welcome pack would be nice....

Great location, with a very warm welcome. In a secluded location in walking distance to 2 local pubs. Easy access to coastal walks and nearby villages and towns. A trip to Hunters Inn in Heddon Valley is a must. Many thanks to Jill and Gerry, and the little fat man who makes the finest most filling breakfast to satisfy largest of appetites.

We recently stayed in this quaint B&B and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Jill met us on arrival and took us to our room which was nicely decorated and big enough for our requiements with a large en-suite. Lovely white fluffy white towels that smelt beautiful. I used the complimentary toilitries as they were posher than mine!. Breakfast was filling and set us up for the day with plenty of toast to follow. You will not find a nicer friendlier couple than Jill and Gerry and am sure that you will enjoy a relaxing break in this peaceful location.

Room Tip: Number five= double room with large en-suite, bedroom though faces the road although only a couple o...

We stayed in Daisy Cottage, a self contained cottage next to Berry Mill House. It was very comfortable and homely, with all the appliances you need with a young family. Jill and Gerry are very freindly and are there for every eventuality, they will help and advise you when ever you need or want it.

Room Tip: Rooms were exceptionally clean and very comfortable.
