Just spent a long weekend here and had a fab time even tho the weather wasnt that great. Its a fantastic setting, everything is just a small walk away, stunning scenery and the cove is just fantastic. We stayed in a tourer caravan pitch was fab, everything you need, showers and toilets were always clean and in good working order. Food in Cafe was good, only had snacks but it was all freshly cooked. Only one down side, we were in the marquee (houses air hockey, pool tables etc) playing table tennis with our kids (which was free just had to pay £1 deposit for bats and ball) and there were people sat inside at the tables smoking and throwing their cigerette ends on the floor. There wasnt a no smoking sign up so I felt like I couldnt really say anything and as all of them were smoking it seemed constant, the smoke bothered me as I am asthmatic so had to leave which was a shame. This is a lovely site and we are definitely going to visit again hopefully with better weather, has fab pool for the kids and staff were friendly and helpful.

40 years ago as a youngster i spent a week at this park with my family. Booked because our dog could come too i have memories of the Castle opposite and small beach. When looking around the web for a long weekend break with husband, daughter and two young dogs i remembered the name and couldn't resist booking the park. The pub had gone and the caravans were more upmarket but the beach and the beautiful countryside were just the same! We were in a static Caravan which was more like a log cabin. Excellent kitchen with fridge/freeza and microwave, two recliniing leather sofa's and flat screen TV. My daughter who is more used to holidays abroad and Disney loved it and the dogs loved the walks. Take away fish and chips plus desserts from the cafe were just right after the journey down. The weather was good so we went to Ilfacombe, Wollacombe, Combe Martin and Barnstable (which appeared to be deserted). Likely we will do this again next year!

I have visited Watermouth Campsite on several occasions, in our touring caravan, and have always been very tempted to try the water sports they offer there.
This holiday we saw they were offering 'Jet ski safaris' and so myself and my husband thought we would give it a try.
I wasn't sure what to expect, and being quite nervous on jet skis i was a little apprehensive. I have to say, there was absolutely no need at all!! We were told to meet Jim, one of the instructors, in the beach hut to go through the Safari and safety rules etc. As soon as Jim began to talk through things with us, from safety at sea, to hand signals and their meanings, it became very apparent we were certainly in very safe and capable hands. From starting the jetski to using the water safely, and observing the general rules of sea vessels, Jim explained things in a very clear and concise way, and it was very obvious that safety at sea was paramount.
He put me at ease, and after going through a very informative tutorial we were taken down to the skis to try them out!!
Everything that we had been told in the beach hut, became so much clearer when we actually began going through things on the ski. We were then both taken out seperately by Jim, to enable us to work the controls, and practise the starting stopping of the ski, and also to get a feel of the machine and how it handled.
When both my husband and I were confident with the controls, and Jim was happy that we were able to use them, we set off on the Safari!!
We followed the instructor, all along the magnificent coastline towards Ilfracombe Harbour, and got the chance to see Verity, Damien Hursts statue, from a brilliant angle. Jim also clearly had good knowledge of the local area and his surroundings as he explained all sorts of things while we were out!!
I have to say, this is by far the best experience i have had on the water, and will certainly be going back in the summer to do it again. I am also going to book my teenage children in for a safari, as i can do this with the upmost confidence that they are very safe and well looked after by Jim and the team.

We stayed in Buttercup chalet and were very impressed. The quality of the fittings and linens were very high. It's always in the detail and here we had detail such as inclusive WiFi (essential in this day and age, especially for the kids!), a smart TV and your own thermostat for the heating.
If Nth Devon is your idea of heaven then the location is ideal. While in a quiet secluded cove you are still adjacent to a main road that enables quick and easy driving to so many other fabulous locations from a central starting point between Combe Martin and Ilfracombe.

We camped here last summer and have to say the views were great. We took canoes and went out from the jetty and saw dolphins, which made the holiday.
However the toilet block furthest away is pretty grim.

Would love to return this summer, but toilets putting us off..

Room Tip: Good for camping but use newer toilets

We have camped a few times, stayed in Harbour Lodge and also rented the chalets. This place has fantastic scenery, a lovely peaceful atmosphere and helpful staff. We stayed as the country was awaiting the GREAT storm, we were given torches and candles and told to come for help if we needed it [thankfully we didn't] . Once you have been here and enjoyed I can guarantee that you will be wanting to come back. There aren't enough words to describe this fantastic place...cant wait to get back there... Oh our two dogs loved it as well, little tip take an old duvet with you to lay on the floor, they get the idea of having their own bed and then keep off the beds etc

Room Tip: All the chalets are excellent, although next time we are going to try and book one by the shop overl...
