“Home from Home”
Reviewed 23 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Had a very enjoyable and pleasant stay although cottage is joined on to the owners house they did not interfere in any way but it was very pleasant to know they were there should any problems arise in the cottage on arrival there was a very nice fresh cream tea awaiting us and would very like to visit again some time.

“Well worth the money”
Reviewed 24 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

A gem of a property that is worth every (very reasonable) penny. Its well located for both the coast and Exmoor and I was spoilt for choice where to go walking.

Poppies was clean, comfortable, warm and well-equipped with reliable wi-fi and convenient parking.

Fresh flowers and a cream tea on arrival were very thoughtful. The owners live next door and whilst you are made to feel most welcome and assured that help/advice is on hand should you need it, they property is relatively private and they did not intrude.

I'd have been very happy to spend a second week there.

“A Beautiful Little Gem!”

So glad we found this little gem of a cottage in the very lovely village of Berrynarbor.
It has everything you could ask for and more. Extremely clean, well equipped with all the facilities you need. Free Sky TV and wi fi a real bonus!
A lovely quiet area, but with all the surrounding places within easy reach, plenty of walks with fantastic views. Very relaxing indeed!
Allison and Andy gave us a warm welcome, we arrived to fresh flowers and Devon Cream Tea! what more can you ask for at the start your holiday?
A visit to Clovelly and the beautiful Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe if definitely recommended.
We had such a good time, and will definitely be going again!

“A Perfect Little Gem in a Picture Book Village near Spectacular Scenery.”
Reviewed 19 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Poppies was all we had expected from the reviews and more. Andy and Allison made us feel most welcome. Although small, the property is most tastefully appointed, making it feel spacious and providing for every need. Flowers and a cream tea greeted us and, with good weather, we had no need of the colour coordinated umbrella hanging by the door. Berrynarbour is delightful and the community shop is convenient. Poppies is perfect for relaxation or as a base from which to explore spectacular countryside. The Pack o' Cards, Combe Martin, served a very good meal. The books and detailed local maps were a much appreciated bonus. It would be good to return.

Liked best: The sense that the owners really wanted their guests to enjoy their holiday.
Liked least: The view to the front of a dilapidated building. The clematis ameliorates this and it is not a problem. The view to the rear is lovely..

“A perfect cottage for couples”
Reviewed 16 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in North Devon. Poppies was a perfect little cottage...clean, tasteful and with all the modern conveniences, in a tranquil location.A great location for walks from the door or days out in the car. We would definitely recommend Poppies for a holiday. Thank you Allison and Andy.
