stayed in the king size bedroom and was welcomed with homemade biscuits and good selection of hot drinks. Went to a friend's birthday party, and arrived back late but that wasn't a problem at all. The breakfast was wonderful! Excellent choice of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit and juices. Basket of croissants and toast and a lovely cooked breakfast. Would definitely recommend this house to stay. Loved the binoculars in the room. Nice touch.

We stayed overnight at St. John's House B&B, so we could go to a friend's evening wedding celebration at nearby Broughton Hall. (if you do the same, you can get to the hall by side roads, but make sure of your route, we got lost and ended up in the middle of Skipton). We stayed in the double room, a huge, light and airy room in the attic, with large velux windows overlooking the valley and a large window on a second wall. The bed was very comfortable and the adjoining en-suite shower room was large and very attractive. Kath brought us fresh milk and home-made lemon poppyseed cake when we arrived, which was much appreciated. Breakfast was good, with delicious ginger berry compote and home-made jams to go alongside a tasty cooked breakfast.
Cononley is about 3 miles south of Skipton, and outside the National Park, but it's very easy to get to nearby places - it took us about 15 minutes to get to Grassington on Sunday - and Bronte country is very close by. I would recommend St. John's B&B, it's very good value, and we would be happy to come again.

Run by a lovely couple who welcome you into their home and make you feel more like a friend than a client. Room spotlessly clean, large, bright and airy with lovely views of the valley - binoculars are provided! Tastefully decorated, discreetly colour coordinated without going over the top. Large en-suite shower room. Breakfast was ample, with plenty of choice and local produce. Highly recommended

We stayed for just one night but it was one of the best places we have stayed for a long time. Just stepping through the door to the warm welcome from Kath and Doug, felt like you were visiting friends rather than being a paying guest. The room was fantastic; spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. We were in the family room, and were impressed by the range of toys available. I can only imagine how great it would be for children. Kath couldn't do enough for us, from bringing us some fabulous biscuits on arrival, to ordering our food at the pub as we were running late and in danger of missing it. Breakfast was equally good; homemade, huge variety and great views from our table in the dining room window. We would definitely recommend it. Great value for money, in a lovely spot and walking distance to local shop, two pubs and the train station. What more could you ask for? Well, we particularly appreciated the fact that, on a bank holiday, they didn't enforce a minimum 2/3 night stay. Otherwise we would have missed out on this lovely place.

We were welcomed by Kath and the super family dog. What a surprise when we were shown to our room. The room was lovely, spacious and immaculately clean. It was a large room with a double bed and a sofa to sit on, and a desk to use if needed. The feeling of space was such a change from a lot of other places we have stayed. The en-suite bathroom was lovely with a good sized shower. There are three large windows in the bedroom all with views looking over the village, the sprawling countryside and beyond. Kath brought homemade biscuits and cakes to our room when we came in on a daily basis. The full English breakfast was always beautifully presented and homemade jams/honey available to try, our favourite being Granny Joyce's Rhubarb jam. We also had the pleasure of a very polite young man who always asked if everything was okay at breakfast. There is a train station within a 5 minute walk with such a good service to various parts of the countryside and towns to visit. We would highly recommend a visit to such a lovely quaint location.
