“Nice B&B”
Reviewed 23 December 2013

Nicely renovated B&B and in a great spot in the countryside. Even though our room was comfortable and nicely furnished and maintained, we would suggest that Room 2 is more for a single person as it was very small for 2 people. Yes, it is advertised as a smaller room than the others but we did not realise how small til we checked in. Next time, we'll know better. Enjoyed the countryside around Throstle Nest Farm.

Room Tip: Room 2 is perhaps too small for 2 people.

Stayed as we needed a base for a trip on Settle to Carlisle train. What a brilliant find! Comfortable and stylish B&B. Lovely family who run it and we were made to really feel at home. Gorgeous rooms, beautiful views and a scrummy breakfast! Will definitely be back x

Stayed here for a weekend when in Yorkshire to catch up with relatives. The house has been beautifully refurbished with a lovely visitors lounge with great views over the valley. Couldn't fault a thing, good room, great breakfast, lovely attention to details, warm welcoming and homely. Just what we needed for a chill out weekend.

We have recently stayed for the weekend ,as part of my husband's birthday celebrations. We had a lovely double room with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The breakfast was perfect and set us up for the day as we explored the lovely valley of the river Aire. The village of Cononley is very near, has a nice village pub and has a station with trains to either Skipton or Leeds/ Bradford and all stations in between. You could have a lovely break in the countryside and do all your Christmas shopping, provided there was a vacancy. You need to book in advance . We are thinking of booking again for my birthday!

The views are simply stunning and clever use of visitor sitting room and breakfast area ensures they are constantly insight.Beds are so comfy with lovely quality bedding making a great sleep very easy.As we arrived there was a howling wind and driving rain but the huge fire gave us a roaring welcome,as did the very kind owners.
Breakfast was superb and we left this beautiful little gem with every intention of returning soon.A perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back have the prettiest view.

A short drive outside Skipton is this gem of a B&B. My partner and I stayed for one night at the end of a week of sightseeing around North Yorkshire and the Dales. We were greeted very warmly at the door and shown up to our room - Room 2 which overlooks the gorgeous countryside at the back of the property. We knew in advance that this room would be a little on the snug size for a couple with a 4ft bed and tiny shower room, but found the accommodation to be modern and immaculately clean, and absolutely fine for our one night stay.

Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water was provided in the room, and a lovely addition to the hospitality tray was some homemade flapjacks! A spare pillow and blanket was provided in the room, a hairdryer and desk fan were also available to use, and a radio alarm clock on the bedside table. There was also a flat screen TV mounted on the wall, but if you are in the room during daylight hours the only think you'll be watching is the view out of the window - beautiful rolling countryside!

Before bed we decided to sit for a while downstairs in the lovely guest lounge by the fire - drinking the Ampleforth Abbey cider we'd been saving and looking through a hardback coffee table photo book illustrating Throstle Nest's renovation journey. The property's transformation is amazing - the huge windows overlooking the countryside, which you can also see from the upstairs landing, were a great addition.

The guest lounge doubles up as the breakfast room, and our breakfast the following morning was equally rave-worthy. I had the vegetarian breakfast, and my partner, the full English - both were delicious. The hosts were warm and friendly and very helpful, offering us a much appreciated recommendation for a place for an evening meal.

We will definitely be staying again.

Room Tip: Our room (Room 2, snug double) overlooked beautiful open rolling countryside at the rear of the prop...

Visited for 2 nights with husband & 3 yr old daughter. Greeted by owner at 6pm on Friday eve n showed to room. Complimentary tea /coffee in sitting/dining area. Room spotless & very modern. Very close to skipton. Drove in a few times for food& shopping. Lovely breakfast both days at hotel. May visit alone as a couple next week. Really enjoyed the stay. Would recommend the wooly sheep pub. Divine food in centre. Daughter made to feel very welcome & play with owners children's toys. Thank you.
