A great place to be based for all the local activities. Owners on hand if needed and very welcoming.
Shame the local pub has closed, but great places near in Drummore and Sandhead for food and a pint.
I'm sure we will be returning to Rose Cottage very soon.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Rose Cottage and what more can I add .the cottage as always clean and tidy, nice clean bed sheets and lovely white fluffy towels and everything you could need in the kitchen.
. Wi Fi internet connection.and plenty of DVDs and books for the rainy days.
It is close to the dog friendly sandy Beach with free parking.
The owners are friendly and approachable in the cottage next door this year they have installed a fence and a gate so that it is very secure to let out the dog in the garden with bench seating and a grassed area. We returned home after the holiday totally relaxed.
We cant wait to return.

Have just returned from Rose Cottage stayed from 14/3/15 to 21/3/15. Beautiful little cottage ideal for the two of us plus our dog, Great views plus nice easy walk down to the beach at Port Logan. Also Logan Botanic gardens on the doorstep short drive to Drummore & Mull of Galloway Lighthouse. Prius lots of other places to visit and walk.

We returned to Rose Cottage again for a weeks stay. What can I add, Total relaxation, peace and quiet. The only noise was from the sound of the wide variety of birds feeding their young and the cows mooing in the fields. The cottage was very clean with lovely white fluffy towels and a nice comfortable king size bed with a well equipped kitchen and lots and lots of DVDs for the rainy days. Port Logan has a sandy and shale dog friendly Beach but don't expect any shops or slot machines as it is total unspoilt by commercialism.
Ardwell Gardens is great for a nice stroll around with 2 ponds, woodland and a walled garden. The cottage is a10 minute drive to Drummore for the post office and the local store with the larger town of Stranraer being about a 20 to 25 minute Drive away.(don't forget your parking disc it is in the welcome book).
The Mull of Galloway RSPB and the lighthouse is the furthest southerly point of Scotland and on a clear day you can see The Isle of Man and the café serves up nice cakes and coffee. We came home from Rose cottage totally relaxed. Stephen and Marie the hosts are very friendly and amenable they just leave you to do as you please.
We will be returning again some time soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in February 2014 during the terrible storms. In spite of the hurricane winds and the constant rain we were warm and cosy. The open fire was an absolute blessing. The cottage is warm and cosy and we look forward to going sometime in the summer to sit out in the beautiful garden and watch the sunset over Port Logan

What can I say? Our 2 week stay at rose cottage was wonderful, great hosts, the cottage was perfectly clean in all respects, a great location for walking, cycling, fishing, birdwatching etc. Plenty of nice, fluffy towels, nice hot shower, well equipped kitchen, lovely living room with nice TV, DVD, CD player, loads of well selected books, CD's and DVD's. Not that we watched much TV, far too busy walking and fishing! The garden is beautiful with a who's who of garden birds visiting. Great to sit out, access directly from the back of the house is down several steps which we had no problems with despite us both having knee problems. If steps are an issue then you can access the garden through a gate and across a lawn, simples! Can't wait to go back!
