“Ideal Seaside House”

Perfect for four adults/teenagers and two small children. 15 mins walk to beach. Very comfortable and clean although rather dated. There is everything there in a safe area for children. Generous supply of equipment and china etc for six people. Superb kings size bed in main bedroom. Single mattresses rather soft. Downstairs loo, ideal for elderly and tinnies. Enclosed back garden . Situation on a nice residential road. Sainsbury's just 10mins away and many cafes and restaurants close by. About 50 mins by car to Bornemouth and anout the same to the New Forest. Great children's park at Highcliffe . The castle and cafe only 10mins away.

“Another great holiday”

We don't usually return to a property for a holiday because we like to visit different areas, but we liked Sundorne and its location so much last year that we wanted to return. The property is warm and comfortable and the close proximity to the beach and Mudeford Quay, Christchurch and Bournemouth and the New Forest make this a an excellent holiday location.

“Excellent property & an excellent holiday”

The house is a traditional design (1930s?) and, in my opinion, all the better for it. The door is on the left hand side of the house and so the hall way runs parallel to the front.. Leading off from the hallway on the right are the dining room and the lounge: the dining room has a large table big enough for 7 people, 2 armchairs and a TV, whilst the bigger lounge has 2 settees and a TV. Both rooms are very comfortable and spacious.

The kitchen is at the far end of the hallway and has everything required for preparing meals for a group of people, with plenty of saucepans, dishes, cutlery, plates, mugs, glasses, e.t.c. There is a top oven/grill and lower fan-assisted oven, a microwave, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. The backdoor leads to a conservatory and from there to the back garden, which is large and private, although it was the wrong time of year for us to enjoy it!

At the bottom of the stairs there is a toilet and a shower room which is in addition to the separate toilet and bathroom, with overhead shower, upstairs. The three bedrooms are large with plenty of wardrobe space and very comfortable.

There is parking space on the drive for two cars, but it should be noted that on-road parking is not permitted April - September because this is a very popular holiday area and parking is at a premium.

The property is only a 5 minute stroll from the beach, where the Isle of Wight and the Needles majestically dominate the skyline: Mudeford and crab fishing is to the right, whilst Highcliffe Castle, once owned by Mr Selfridge who, together with his wife and mother-in-law, is buried in the local church, is to the left. Bournemouth, the New Forest and Lymington are all within very easy striking distance.

There is a pub 5 minutes walk away where you can watch football and drink real ale, whilst a 5 minute drive will take you to a very large Sainsbury's on the Hinton/Lyndhurst roundabout.

We loved staying here because the house was homely and there is always so much to see and do in this part of the world.

PS make a note of the days for bin collection - these are written in a calendar in the kitchen.
