“Stunning church and town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2013

If you have a few hours to spend in Lugano i would definitely recommend taking one of the many boat trips to Morcote (approx 45 mins) and wandering the lovely cobbled streets. There are lots of lovely water-front restaurants, bars and shops.

If you're feeling a little more energetic, i would definitely recommend walking up the few hundred steps (don't worry it only takes 15 minutes at a slow pace) to visit the church up the top of the hill. It has amazing views of Morcote and Lake Lugano.

“Romantic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2013

Absolutely worth a visit. Even though, I live in the area, I visited the park for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Walking through the beautifully kept park with its many romantic statues and ponds is a joy. There are many possibilities to rest and admire the beauty of the park and the view over Lake Lugano.

“Parco Sherrer on Mother's Day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2013

We were here for the first time with our wives celebrating mother's day. We were able to 'see the world in a grain of sand and the heaven in a wild flower ...'. Going through wonderful gardens, lush greenery and visiting scenes from around the world. Very inspiring, and relaxing. Highly recommended if you like something new and special but on a steep slope and only for persons who ca. Manage steep steps.

“The Park a Tourist Trap”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2012

Once upon a time it was good; in our visit Jul 2012, the park had degenerated completely. The place was unkempt, fountains dysfunctional, pathways not cleaned or shrubs out of the way. They are just capitalising on earlier positive reviews. For those who cannot climb steps its a NO NO, one has to walk thru out either climbing up or down ; an easy 30 min walk thru for those who can , thats it.
.One bus comes every hour either way, 30 mins one way from the station, . The bus stop from the station is a bit of a walk , on the road to Morcote , and unmarked so if you are on a DIY trip (doing it yourself), cheers.Hardly any assistance. One does not mind paying entrance fees , but this was a steal,, from the wallet.
