We visited the Valbella Inn for our yearly ski holidays and were originally booked into the original part of the hotel. With our 2 girls we had booked a family suite. The children had to sleep on a sofa bed in the living room, so once they were in bed there was no possibility for us to watch tv, or even walk through the room to use the bathroom. We asked the hotel for a solution and they provided us with a room in their new extension across the road. This part has been completely refurbished and looks stunning. We got 2 rooms with an interconnecting door and all problems were solved!
Thanks Valbella Inn for being so flexible.

Also, the kids club (Lego) was great, the pool however is quite small though. Whilst we were at the other side we had to change in the changing room of the pool. The restaurants (both hotels) were good, however the service was very slow.

Added bonus: Children can be dropped of for the ski school right in front of the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new part.

We stayed 3 nights at the Valbella Inn for a business trip although we spent most of our time skiing.
However, we do this every year and this is the best hotel so far, good food, great rooms and very nice common areas. In the house we stayed there was a library where we had a meeting and we also used the very comfy bar.
We ate in both restaurants and the food was very good in both. We did have some issues with the service one night when the waiter was unable to remember any of our orders and had ask several times before she got it right.
One of the reasons we choose Valbella Inn is that you have easy access to the slopes and to the cross country skiing. There is only a short walk to both.
I would recommend it for both business stays and families.

We stayed at the Valbella for four nights in July. We were after a family friendly hotel (we have two children, aged 3 and 5) in the mountains and found the Valbella via the Swiss tourist board.

The hotel was amazing. The public areas were lovely, very clean and new and the restaurant and bar were very spacious and comfortable.

The room...we had a large suite which had a separate bedroom with a large bed and a further King size bed just off the living area. The configuration meant that we put the boys in the separate bedroom so the adults could have the run of the living area at night. The living area itself was lovely and big and we had a balcony overlooking the rear of the hotel. We also had a very discrete kitchenette which had a very useful fridge in it. The decor was very nice and it all looked very new.

We were on half board and the food was good if not great. That said, the breakfasts were very good given the choice and service given. Dinner every night was a set menu, different for adults and children. Whilst it was a set menu the staff were very accommodating and flexible with choices, etc. On the subject of the staff, they were all extremely helpful and eager to please and their English was excellent.

The leisure facilities were great. The pool complex was lovely with a separate kids pool next to the main one. The outdoor facilities were good, especially the crazy golf. Back indoors...the Lego designed kids area was sensational. Part jungle gym, part creche, it had something for kids of all ages. We didn't use it as a creche but would not have hesitated had the need arisen. The staff were very helpful and kept the kids well entertained.

Overall the Valbella ticked every box for us. It was a lovely and relaxing base for some spectacular mountain walks and some good eating and drinking! We would definitely go back in the Summer and are currently looking into going for the snow and skiing.

We spent four nights around X-mas and really enjoyed this place. Travelling with a five year old child this place gave us everything we wanted: modern and at the same time "Alpish" hotel style, great indoor pool including sauna, whirlpool (ca. 32 degrees Celsius) and an icecold "Kneipp" area. The "Kids Inn" designed by Lego and very child-focussed nurses gave us time to enjoy the superb food in various styles rounded by some great wines. It has is price but is definitely a place to return.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the new, additional building.

The rooms are great - very contemporary decor and clean. Our duplex 2 bedroom until unfortunately was on a wall adjacent to the kitchen and so we could hear pots and pans being washed up until nearly midnight every night. The hotel was full, so there was not much they could do about it, although they were apologetic. By the end of the stay, we got used to the noise, but the first couple nights were difficult. The hotel is very good for children - the kids club is a brilliant space although the staff do not speak much English, so if your children are English speakers, you may need to supervise them a bit.

The food was good, but not great, and there was enough variety for a week of skiing, although we did take refuse in the local pizzeria two nights to add some variety.

The spa was very nice, but you need to walk outside to get to it from the hotel, which is quite uncomfortable when it is cold outside - and it was very cold the week that we visited. Also, there are communal changing rooms, which as a Brit, was a bit uncomfortable.

The hotel location is great for the children's ski school - the meeting point is just outside. There is a quite a walk to get to the intermediate ski area, including crossing a road, or taking a bus, which I wasn't wild about. The ski school will drop your children at the hotel's kid's club for lunch, which is a great service, as it means you don't need to rush back from the other side of the valley to get the children at 12.

Overall, the hotel was very good and staff friendly. I'm not sure that the resort is one that we would want to go back to for skiing, as it is quite limited and is quite spread out which is difficult if you have small children and want to ski with them.
