We were on an all-inclusive trip with Treyn Holidays, and up-graded to a superior room in Chalet Enzian. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with all that we needed. It is a family-run Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The food is superb - everything is freshly cooked with inventive dishes created by the Michelin Star Chef (the owner). The food is very traditional in style so go with an open mind and be prepared to try new things. Even foods we thought we didn't like tasted wonderful with subtle flavours and textures making them acceptable and enjoyable. We also had dietary requirements which they accommodated and dealt with without any fuss and with equally great tasting food. The gluten free bread was better than anything I've tasted in the U.K. Wilderswil is a beautiful, quiet village, ideally situated as a base for visiting all the attractions of the surrounding area. Obviously good weather cannot be guaranteed but it's always changing, and even a very wet morning can turn into a beautifully hot day with spectacular views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit. We highly recommend this Hotel with it's warm and friendly owners and staff.

I totally agree with David S from Leeds. We too stayed in Room 3 and my husband said it was like staying in a shed. The weather was very wet every day and the room felt damp as it was preciously said the walls were wooden covered with curtain fabric (I had this as kitchen curtains 30 years ago.) We too were on a Treyn Holiday and must re-iterate everything previously said about the room and the dining room. The Box "Bathroom" walls were also covered in vinyl floor covering which again I had in my kitchen 30 years ago. The food was OK but nothing to shout about. The only good thing really was the cheese. Our final meal was Boiled belly pork with greasy potatoes and Chinese cabbage. Awful! The staff, however, were very nice and helpful but I would not go back and would not go with Treyn Holidays again (see comment on Treyn in Forum)

Room Tip: Don.t have room 3

I had a horrible experience at Albenblick when I made a reservation for economy double room through Amoma.com. The room came with shared bathroom inspite of spending over $150 per night. Neither Alpenblick nor Amoma advertised any of their rooms coming with shared bathroom. Please be careful and ensure that the room comes with bathroom at this hotel before making the reservation. Also since the floor is wooden and doors are heavy you will hear people walking or coming out for smoke etc. Had terrible time in sleeping. Other than that the hotel has clean rooms and breakfast is good. The walk is way too long from the railway station. In case if you plan to travel via train/bus then you can skip this hotel as it has a uphill (a bit steep) walk which may not be easy with luggage. Also keep in mind that the reception door gets locked at 10 PM or so and if you are late on your first day then you cant get in. As long as the restaurant is open there is someone to help. Call them ahead of time in case if you are coming late.

Room Tip: Main Hotel building might have better rooms.

Lieber Gast
Great surroundings, fantastic breakfast. courteous and helpful staff. But overall not worth the price.

- Rooms were clean but had shared bathrooms. These are cabins so be ready for noise from the floor above.
- Hotel is solid 15 min walk from station with no transportation from wilderswil so don't make mistake of walking with luggage from the station with kids (in the summer rain.)
- Cab from Interlaken OST was 25 francs (came to know next day).
- No Wi-Fi in the room and very slow connection in the small area at the check-in counter.
- No coffee machine or microwave in the room. For $$$ a night this was not worth the price.

Room Tip: Don't select room in the back of the hotel.

The family run hotel has a high reputation for food and has a Michelin Star. The staff are really helpful and obliging but some spoke little if any English. We were on a Treyn tour in a group of 38 and were packed into a compact dining room for breakfast and evening meal and you had to form tight orderly queues for the mostly buffet eating. The main, and spacious, restaurant was mostly reserved for al a carte dining.
Our room (no. 3) on the first floor was very small and in real need of up-dating. The walls are clad in fabric and were scorched by the wall light and greasy above the bed (there was no headboard). The handbasin is in the bedroom and there is a compact shower and w.c. in a boxed-off corner which is so small that there was a notch in the door to allow it to clear the wc. lid! The old, small tv only had CNN and BBC entertainment channel, but there was free wi-fi for upto 48 hours in the ground and first floor areas.
You get the impression of a a 60`s British B & B run on a shoe string but with excellent food but it was nice to get back to reality in Premier Inn at Euston after a 12 hour train trip back to England.

Room Tip: I would not go back there again unless it was on a 1 star price.

This village hotel is quite quirky and charming. The staff are well trained. The restaurant and breakfast room are homely and clean. The food was freshly prepared and delightfully served by knowledgeable and helpful staff. Packed lunches were provided every day and were fresh and tasty. One member of our party (4) had particular dietary requirements which were overlooked at first, but observed by the end of the week. We seemed however unable to get plain water with our meal, and were charged significantly for a carafe of what seemed to be tap water.
The bedrooms vary hugely, one of the party had a newly refurbished single room on the front of the hotel (No 7)which was stylish and bright. The other two rooms 12 & 23 on the other hand are very much in need of a makeover, drab and dingy. Despite that they were spotless and the beds comfortable.
There is no lift at the hotel and the stair flights have some odd uneven steps, the staff will offer to carry your bags on arrival - accept especially if you are on the third floor
The Hotel location is very convenient and the stroll to and from the train station was just lovely past beautiful gardens and picturesque chalets.
We had a very happy and memorable holiday in this friendly and informal hotel.
Thank you to Yvonne who runs the hotel and her staff for making it so.

Stayed with a group from Treyn holidays for a week. Met by friendly staff who dealt with check in quickly. Our room had a shared balcony with tables and chairs with next door - fellow Treyn travellers - so we soon made friends. Room had all we needed.Very comfortable continental beds together but with a lovely Swiss duvet each so no fighting for covers in the night. Modern style bowl sink set into counter top in bedroom with loo bath/shower in bathroom, hairdryer, TV, radiators, storage. Rooms immaculately clean.
Chef provided `Masterchef` type meals every night (except Tuesday his day off) which were amazing. Starter, home made soup, main course, cheese course then dessert followed by tea or coffee. Our holiday included wine, water beer or soft drinks from 7 - 9pm and these were dispensed liberally by the attentive restaurant staff who made sure our dining experience was as much a highlight of the day as the Swiss alpine scenery that we had visited during the day. Packed lunches were provided and these were fine despite some grumpy reviews from over fussy people. They even gave us coloured hard boiled eggs because it was coming up to Easter!
We realised that we were actually looking up at the magnificent Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains shimmering in the sunshine from the road leading to the hotel. We did visit them and were blessed with sunny skies and clear visibility for most of the week which was an added bonus. (Sadly not on the day we went to the Jungfrauhoch!)
Just 4 minutes away on the local railway was Interlaken so we could either visit the town and lakes or travel into the depths of the high mountains without backtracking.
If you get the local bus up the road to Saxeten (free with the Interlaken travel card) just behind the hotel you find yourself in an unspoilt alpine village with simple farmhouses that have snow and mountains as a backdrop and a long waterfall.Peace and quiet with a couple of hours to walk before the bus leaves to take you back.
We found the hotel perfect for our needs and the staff always had time for us. They are rightly proud of this gem of an establishment they run that provides so well for the needs of tired hungry travellers.

Room Tip: Just ask and explain what you want. There are upgrades but you have to pay extra.
