“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

The Hotel Alpenblick is a wonderful place to stay. Wilderswill is a charming beautiful village. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very well run. The chef is magnificent serving fabulous food of a very high standard. All the waiting staff were charming and helpful. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Full marks to the domestic staff. There is nothing we can say against the hotel or the staff. Just go there yourself and experience the hospitality and the sheer beauty of Switzerland. Hotel Alpenblick is truly a wonderful advertisement for this wonderful country. Well done to you all. We will be back!. Interlaken one stop on the train or 10Mins by bus, very frequent service.

Room Tip: Upgrade available to Alpencluck well worth while

We were on an all-inclusive rail trip holiday through Treyn Holidays and stayed in room 18 on the third floor of the main building. It was clean and comfortable and from the balcony had a wonderful view of the valley to Interlaken and to the Eiger mountain when the weather was clear. The food was wonderful. There was such a variety of beautifully presented food and a cheese board with a choice that you would not see in a British restaurant. Service was very good and delivered by friendly and efficient staff. The owners Richard and Yvonne were always around to check that we were satisfied and pleased to discuss any aspect of the hotel and their service. We look forward to going to this hotel again and would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: There are several grades of room. The basic rooms are fine. Upgraded rooms are bigger but may not ha...

We were on an all inclusive rail holiday organised by Treyn. We took our nut and fish allergic eighteen year old with us having only done self catering holidays since he was diagnosed aged 4 years old. The Chef/owner and his wife were lovely, personable people and the cooking was wonderful. They managed to cater for my son's allergies for which we are so grateful.
The rooms which we had in the adjoining Chalet Enzian were clean and comfortable. When the clouds cleared we realised we had a view of the Jungfrau which was such a treat.
I would love to return to this hotel to savour the food, the views and to talk to the staff again. Thank you to all at the Hotel Alpenblick for giving us such a wonderful week and for the special effort you all made to enable our son to eat safely. I keep thinking about the beautiful meats, salads, starters,
puddings and breakfasts...and I hope I will be able to enjoy them again in the future!

We reviewed this hotel on Trip Advisor before we travelled with TREYN HOLIDAYS. Hence we anticipated problems but there were none from our point of view.
My husband was worried about the food as he thought maybe it wouldn't suit him. However, he is certain that he put on weight due to the portion size and number of courses each evening. Our packed lunches were always adequate, enough for our good appetites and tasty with it. There was nothing at all stingy about the food or drink, varied, always fresh and excellent quality.
We did need to pay a deposit for a special socket adapter for our room but this was returned without fuss at the end of our stay.
Beware being caught out opening the bottle of water supplied with your room. It cost us 4 CHF! Cheeky, as we were supplied this free with our lunch every day and I tried to replace it the next day from our packed lunch.

Our room was lovely, everything we required and a pretty balcony to sit out on.
Brilliant and very welcome shower after long train trip.
We had chosen to upgrade when we booked our holiday as we were advised these were all that were left. We thought this was worth the extra as the holiday proved to be very good value for money.

15 minutes walk from the train station up gentle incline to this hotel. Traditional dancing, music and yodelling on various evenings just below hotel in the village square.

Room Tip: Unless you are looking for a budget break don't book the cheapest rooms

We were on an all-inclusive trip with Treyn Holidays, and up-graded to a superior room in Chalet Enzian. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with all that we needed. It is a family-run Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The food is superb - everything is freshly cooked with inventive dishes created by the Michelin Star Chef (the owner). The food is very traditional in style so go with an open mind and be prepared to try new things. Even foods we thought we didn't like tasted wonderful with subtle flavours and textures making them acceptable and enjoyable. We also had dietary requirements which they accommodated and dealt with without any fuss and with equally great tasting food. The gluten free bread was better than anything I've tasted in the U.K. Wilderswil is a beautiful, quiet village, ideally situated as a base for visiting all the attractions of the surrounding area. Obviously good weather cannot be guaranteed but it's always changing, and even a very wet morning can turn into a beautifully hot day with spectacular views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit. We highly recommend this Hotel with it's warm and friendly owners and staff.

I totally agree with David S from Leeds. We too stayed in Room 3 and my husband said it was like staying in a shed. The weather was very wet every day and the room felt damp as it was preciously said the walls were wooden covered with curtain fabric (I had this as kitchen curtains 30 years ago.) We too were on a Treyn Holiday and must re-iterate everything previously said about the room and the dining room. The Box "Bathroom" walls were also covered in vinyl floor covering which again I had in my kitchen 30 years ago. The food was OK but nothing to shout about. The only good thing really was the cheese. Our final meal was Boiled belly pork with greasy potatoes and Chinese cabbage. Awful! The staff, however, were very nice and helpful but I would not go back and would not go with Treyn Holidays again (see comment on Treyn in Forum)

Room Tip: Don.t have room 3

I had a horrible experience at Albenblick when I made a reservation for economy double room through Amoma.com. The room came with shared bathroom inspite of spending over $150 per night. Neither Alpenblick nor Amoma advertised any of their rooms coming with shared bathroom. Please be careful and ensure that the room comes with bathroom at this hotel before making the reservation. Also since the floor is wooden and doors are heavy you will hear people walking or coming out for smoke etc. Had terrible time in sleeping. Other than that the hotel has clean rooms and breakfast is good. The walk is way too long from the railway station. In case if you plan to travel via train/bus then you can skip this hotel as it has a uphill (a bit steep) walk which may not be easy with luggage. Also keep in mind that the reception door gets locked at 10 PM or so and if you are late on your first day then you cant get in. As long as the restaurant is open there is someone to help. Call them ahead of time in case if you are coming late.

Room Tip: Main Hotel building might have better rooms.

Lieber Gast
