We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as a part of a coach trip. This is a lovely hotel in a perfect location. The food is great- though we were vegetarians we had a good option. The rooms are small but perfect holiday spirit reverberating through the colourful decor and snow capped mts through the window. The lobby has a piano- if you fancy it. The bar is opened until 12- if there are people hanging out.. It is just 10 mins walk to the Wilderwill train station, a lovely walk indeed.

We also walked to the ruins of a castle nearby, was a lovely walk in the dark.

Room tip: Any room would give you a great view. No lifts to the topmost floors.

We stayed for 2 nights in this homey and beautiful chalet. The hotel is owned by a warm and hospitable family. The food served were great. I am very typical with hotel cleanliness and they at par reached my standards. Lobby is cozy for gathering friends and family. They have a piano...Yes! The rooms are clean with crisp beddings and a nice view of the village. The ones that I actually see inside my snow globe dreaminess. The bed is a bit small though..something similar to goldilocks. Water is potable anywhere. So pls do not ask this question in Switzerland. Train station to Interlaken is 10min. walking distance. I do not mind walking in a village with a great view of the Alps, after all. By the way, we were lucky enough to get the rooms near the balcony area, so we had a nice picture taken by the village houses and mountain view.

Room tip: Get the rooms near the balcony area :)

We stayed at Schönbühl with the Expat Explore Europe Escape Tour and this was certainly one of the best hotels we stayed in, bearing in mind that all hotels/hostels were either 2 or 3 star.
Our Coach driver perfectly manoeuvred the bus all the way to the top where the hotel is located on the edge of the mountain, which pretty much gives all rooms a lovely view of the valley. We stayed in a twin room with very colourful bed linen (probably ideal for teenagers travelling!), however the room was extremely spacious and we had an excellent view on th top floor.
The food on both nights was excellent, however only the first night's meal was included. As the owner offered a typical swiss cheese fondue on the 2nd night for a reasonable CHF15, we opted for that and it was a wise choice, as Switzerland is extremely expensive, especially if you chose to dine out.
The bathroom however was tiny and it is very hard not to spill water all over the bathroom floor, with the existing shower curtains.
We were given a complimentary day pass to travel into Interlaken either by Bus (10min from the hotel) or by train (15 min). Both options are great and you can fill up your water bottle along the way from one of the many waterfountains, which offer clean water.

All in all it was a good stay and I surely would love to come back in Winter, as this must be a snow paradise!

Room tip: Take note that the tiny lift does not go all the way to the top, therefore you may have to carry your luggage a bit.

Stayed at the hotel as part of an Expat explore tour for 2 nights. Place was clean, homely and the meals provided were tasty. Clean towels provided, good views of the mountains and the town. Location though is a 15 minute walk to the nearest train station. Owner does have rules but I personally don't think its harsh. I would stay here again if given another opportunity to visit beautiful Switzerland.

The room we got was good. Some other members of Expat Explore trip got bad one with few complaining about room heating and pipe leaks in the room.

This is a family run hotel and is pretty well thought out to squeeze the customer's extra money. Internet is given free only if you buy something from the bar. The password changes everyday. Wifi connectivity is only in the bar/reception room. No internet in the rooms.

Food provided was good. Vegetarians were provided with decent options.

The owner places quiet a few restrictions like 'Do not use your devices in the dining rooms', 'Ensure that water does not spill out of the shower while having your shower', 'Say please to him when you order a drink or buy something from his bar'!

The showers provided do not have a glass door only a thin curtain so invariably you end up spilling water outside and then clean it.

Room is cleaned every day, towels not replaced. Heating was average.

Breakfast is above average. They can add more variety but I guess that is what you get for what you pay.

Lighting in the corridors should be better as it does switch off automatically but does not switch on when people move about.

Our room though was clean but was not thoroughly cleaned as we found an empty bottle of whisky and some junk stuff below the sofa.

Room tip: Choose rooms at the corners. Others in the middle did mention that they were feeling quiet cold even though the heating was on.
