“A overall great place to stay on vacation”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

My family and I stayed at the sauble lodge last week as we do every summer. Once again the service was great and very kind. The location could not have been better, you can see the beach from the hotel and walk there in seconds. My kids very much enjoyed the pool and my room was very clean.
another great stay in sauble and I recommend sauble lodge if you are looking to take a trip up this summer

This was a birthday celebration of 6 women all turning 50. We had the family suite which was 2 bedrooms, 1 and a ½ bath, a kitchenette and a small living room area. The size was super, more than ample for 6 people.

This place is very old and dated but it was cleanish. The furniture and fixtures looked like they came from valu village in the 60’s era. The one bedroom had a large closet but the closet rod was on the floor, no place to hang up anything. The sheets on the bed were old, stained and frayed. We all kept our shoes on as the carpet looked yucky too.
Both bathrooms had no towel hooks in them, our handtowel had no place to hang from .The kitchen sink had no stopper in which to wash your dishes in.
The pool which was nice and warm had a dangerous slide that was held together with duct tape. The legs of the slide had just 2 legs imbedded in the concrete instead of all 4. The diving board was extremely slippery as it was painted with the wrong kind of paint. There is a sauna but you need pliers to turn it on as it was missing the knob.
The pool was noisy each afternoon as the owners’ kids had their friends over for swims and 15 year olds can be loud! However, the owner father did tell them many times to quiet down but kids being kids, they were only quiet for a bit.

The owners were always seen working: changing garbage, bringing towels etc. They were very friendly and tried their best to accommodate.
I think they should start working on updating these rooms as I would go back if some of these issues were fixed/addressed and for the high cost (over $325 per night), I expected more.

This location is awesome, which is probably why they charge over $325. A 2 minute walk to the beach and a 20 minute walk to the downtown area.
This place also had air conditioning and free wifi.

All in all, if you don’t mind old and dated, this place is ok for the great beach access.

Thanks for taking your time and writing a review. We are very disappointed to hear that you were dissatisfied with your stay with us, but must respond to some of your concerns. Regarding the water slide health inspector comes every month and does the inspection and the paint on diving board was his requirement if the slide is unsafe he would not pass it. Most of the furniture was changed 3 years ago and every body has a different taste. The reason for the knob for the sauna is under 16 is not allowed in the sauna perviously we had problem all the kids were going into the sauna. So we took the knob off if someone wants to use it they just have to ask one of the employees to turn it on. As far as the noise in the pool area kids do make noises and most people are there with the kids and they do not mind while their kids having fun. The rod in the bedroom was not broken it was just taken off it is very easy to put it back on. We are looking forward to see you in the future.

Best regards.

We were 4 families on Friday Jun 20 and then 2 more joined us on Saturday. In total we were 6 families, most of these families had 2 kids.

We had a blast the owners were very friendly and nice and accomodating to our requests. The beach was a lil cool for our liking but we enjoyed the pool to the fullest. The rooms are exceptionally clean & neat. My kids had a blast too...

I would definitely recommend this to anyone definitely must visit place and the best part the beach is a 2 min walk away. amazing, amazing place we stayed up late at night and were never interrupted by anyone...

Thank you Jas & Raj and hope to see you guys next year as well....

This facility is an older motel, but is still the best facility of its kind in Sauble Beach. The location was excellent, with the beach only 1 minute walk away. The town and stores was a 5 min walk. Very quiet, peaceful residential street.

The motel was very clean and spotless inside and out, but a bit rough around the edges. This place is only open during the summer, so some of the furniture and fixtures are old and dated, but still in excellent shape, with little use. Some furniture like the beds and appliances looked new, so upgrades are being made. Some items in the room, such as range hood and some outlets did not work. Very friendly staff who work very hard to make the stay better. Reservations were easy, check in quick. Staff are happy to provide anything extra that's needed. Free WiFi and good cable TV, which was a nice surprise.

Excellent pool and patio. New outside bbq's for general use. A nice, wide selection of rooms are offered, from single rooms, to suites, to individual cabins. Very clean and neat landscaping, convenient parking.

Our stay went flawlessly, with no problems. Very enjoyable. It would have been nice for the sauna, hot tub and exercise room working, but I understand the owners are doing the best they can with an older building, and limited resources due to the short season. I highly recommend the place and would go again.

Room Tip: Tour the variety of rooms to find one to best suite your needs.

This was our first time visiting sauble lodge. There 3 different families, my family of 5 which included 3 kids 2 adults, family of 6 included 2 adults and 4 kids and mother in law & father-in law. We all had our own rooms which were in the motel on the second floor all 3 rooms in a row. The rooms were great, very clean, tv in the living room with a futon 3 chairs a table and coffee table. The bedroom had two double beds and a dresser. They had fresh towels that were given to us everyday by house keeping. They changed the garbage and vacuumed daily. The pool was awesome!!! Warm and clean. The kids had a blast at the pool because down at the beach was very windy. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the lodge. Everyone was very polite. Jas and her hubby were very welcoming. 3 minute walk to the beach. I will be back in the future :)
Thank you for the hospitality.

This was our first time visiting at the Sauble Beach Lodge Motel. Checking in was fast, and friendly, when we got to the room the air conditioning was on and working, very cool in room and this was a plus because usually you have to wait for the room to cool down. The room was outdated, ceilings cracked, some things like the taps not working well , but still working to the point of using it. Some repairs needed as this is an old motel, 40 channels on the TV, Fridge (full Size), and two burners. The plumbing is a problem, as the toilets are always backing up, we asked for a plunger, which we were given at the front desk. They had a new outside BBQ for cooking, which was a plus. The pool was excellent and warm, and the kids enjoyed it, we paid 300 bucks a night, not sure if it is cheap or expensive as this is our first time visiting. Cleaning staff was nice, and fast, and chairs on the patio. They have a hot tub (not working), and a Sauna, but not working. This resort could be a money maker, if they have these things all working, not sure if I would race back to this motel, would like to try others to compare, then see. I hope there will be improvements to this motel, and hopefully come back at a future date.
It is a quite area, and close to the beach, which is a plus. This place had a free Wi-Fi, and you get the code at the front desk, which surprised me, and made the room more entertaining.

Room Tip: There is an extra shower, and bathroom at poolside, which guests can use at any time. Free Wi-Fi, g...
