Our room was not ready on time. Once we got our room the carpets were soaked. "Because they were shampooed" they said. The carpets remained wet and humid our entire stay which made the room smell like rotten/moldy. The hotel was full so we couldn't get anpother room. The first morning we had not hot water for our shower. The repair man was fixing the sceptic tank and the owner was shouting I can't believe people don't know it's a sceptic tank. She's loud and rude. The coffee is not in the room, you have to walk outside to the front desk to get your coffee. The pool is frozen the lake is actually warmer. Goodluck if you need anything at night, we were four and needed towels because they give you three, if you ring the doorbell of the main entry/lobby...nobody shows up??? We rejoice in the fact that it was a beautiful week and we spent it outside not in our room.

I spent a week at the ‘Knight's Inn’ while on vacation in Sauble Beach during the height of the 2010 summer tourist season and found it to be one of those rare establishments that offered the perfect mix of location, service, amenities and price. Owned and operated by the local Knight family (this ‘Knight’s Inn’ has no affiliation with the Wyndham chain of ‘Knights Inn’ hotels), the motel has all the hallmarks of a well-managed business run by people who know what they’re doing and who have a personal stake in ‘getting it right’. Located a leisurely five minute walk from the beach, the ‘Knight’s Inn’ is situated with ample restaurant and shopping options between it and the sand (I didn’t need to use my car for the entire week that I was there ...perfect). That the ‘Knight’s Inn’ isn’t located directly on the beach or on the town’s main drag is - in my opinion - a desirable plus because the motel offers its guests a break from the beach's noise and activity when all you may want is to lay by the pool or enjoy a quiet beverage on your balcony. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, well appointed and comparable to what you might expect from one of the national ‘Quality Inn-ish’ type hotel chains. Housekeeping staff were personable, well organized and throughout my stay they happily tended to my room around my own daily schedule. On several occasions I was aware of guests making mention of being repeat customers who come back to the ‘Knight’s Inn’ summer after summer ...and - after having spent a most enjoyable week there - I can understand why. Highly recommended!
