“Needs lighting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

Stayed recently and unfortunately it rained the whole time. Wouldn't have been a problem staying in the cabin, if the lighting was adequate. The best light to read by is in the bathroom. The lighting by the bed and on the couch is totally inadequate. Take a head lamp for rainy days and evenings. Otherwise it was delightful.

Thank you for reviewing us on Trip Advisor.
We are sorry to read that the cabin lighting wasn’t sufficient for you and please, do come and let us know in the future (hopefully you will give us another shot) if there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable.

Our team is here for our guests and many requests and suggestions can be dealt with right away.

It is our desire and goal to get our cabins slowly but surely renovated and Cabin #9 & The Logger’s Shack are a great example and choices for those seeking a little more comfortable experience.

Kind regards,

Your Sunwolf Team

Husband & I wanted to get away for the weekend and decided this was the place. We don't regret it. We stayed in the kitchenette cabin within a few yards of the fast flowing river. We could hear the sound of the water rushing when we left our window open each evening & it was wonderful. The cabin was about 600 sq ft with running water & electricity. The full size bed was clean & comfortable. There was a small burner & plates/tableware to cook food if you wanted. There is no microwave or TV but that suited our needs just fine. There is Fergies cafe on site with limited hours & the food is good. The Sunwolf staff are consistently friendly, helpful, & professional, no matter who you speak to. The atmosphere is one of a friendly gathering of young 20-30s crowd. No obnoxious or loud groups here thankfully. Situated in the middle of the woods, Sunwolf is the ideal environment for relaxing & centering yourself if you need to temporarily escape the everyday grind of all work & little to no play. Its also close to local activities: kite surfing in Howe sound (which the husband did), hiking trails leading up to The Chief summit (we both did), & Squamish town center for local eats. If there is one criticism about the lodgings, I'd say the bathroom could probably use an update. In all, the location was perfect, the accommodations good, but the people are what will keep us going back.

Dear “Natcarhay”,

Thank you for your amazing review.

It is so rewarding for us to read that you don’t regret your decision to stay with us and that our people is what will keep you going back. We strive to make our guests feel welcome and frankly speaking, it is hard not to be happy and positive it this location so natural and peaceful.

We agree that our cabins need some update and we are happy to announce that we are slowly making progress with this ongoing project of ours. There will be 3 more cabins renovated in 2015 spring and our largest cabin, the Fisherman’s cottage (10 guests), will be done this month.

Having said that, our renovated cabin #9, and the Logger’s Shack are great choices if an extra comfort is what you seek.

We wish you a very happy summer and we hope to see you soon again.

Always the best time had by all. I live in Squamish and yes rent a cabin at Sunwolf twice a year for friends/family functions. The staff are great, accommodating and above all else committed to making sure you and your party are well taken care of and having fun. We tell everyone about this little jem in our backyard.

Room Tip: Newly renovated #9 cabin is awesome BUT still love our usual #10 nearest the firepit.

The new owners have totally transformed this resort into something special. The cabins are of particular note. The on site cafe is also a bonus. Stay here, you'll love it! The property is nestled next a river and yet its only a couple minutes off the highway. A great place to unplug.

Hello “Badcraiger”,

Thank you for your review.

We like the “unplug” expression and with your permission, we would like to add “calm & recharge” to it as that is what we believe this location does to people, when they come here.

We have mentioned before that we slowly get our property renovated and although we go by baby steps, we are getting there. Having your feedback just makes us realize that it does not get unnoticed, which we greatly appreciate.

Once again, thank you and we hope to see you soon.

Just back from 2 nights at Sunwolf and can't wait to return. There were 8 of us celebrating my 60th birthday and we had a great time. We had 3 standard cabins plus cabin 9, which has a full kitchen. While the cabins are not big, we were able to move a table and 4 chairs from one of the other cabins so that we could all have dinner together the night we arrived. There's a fabulous big fire-pit area, which we had all to ourselves the nights we were there. Never made it into the hot-tub, but it looked lovely. And the big plus was that we could take our 2 dogs, who really enjoyed it as they did not have to be leashed. Looking forward to repeating the weekend sometime in the summer. Oh, also our bed was wonderful!!!

Room Tip: Cabin 9 has a full kitchen, the standard cabins have only a coffee maker. Did not see the cabins wi...

Sunwolf was an amazing place to have our wedding. They were able to accommodate a large number of people (180) mostly camping on site and in the cabins without feeling cramped. The property is spacious and absolutely gorgeous with a beautiful river and wonderful atmosphere.
the owners were helpful in the lead up to the big day and easy to work with.
Thanks Sunwolf for making our big day so magical.

Thank you for your wonderful review! Sunwolf is a really special place to live and work on a daily basis, but the highlights of our year are the weddings. I'm really glad your big day was so magical. Magical is exactly the word I would use to describe the feeling created by the sun shining on the mountains, the sound of running water, the trees lit up with strings of lights, kids playing, dogs running, and a couple of hundred people merrily celebrating on the lawn!

I'm happy to hear you found us helpful and easy to work with. It's been more than 4 years since our own wedding but I well remember the huge amount of decision making and planning that our wedding entailed, and we try to make things as easy and smooth as possible for you. I'll pass on your thanks to our whole team, all of whom work hard to make sure our weddings are a huge success.

I hope we will see you again in the future... many of the people who get married here return to have an anniversary vacation in the cabin where they spent their wedding night!

Thanks again

We stayed in a riverside cabins for two nights with our dog. Although we arrived in the rain, Sunwolf was easy to get to from Vancouver. Friendly check-in; she provided lots of information about the property. There is parking conveniently located beside your cabin - and inside you'll find a comfortable bed with new linens, small kitchenette and a simple bath with a shower only. The interior was clean and although the floor is well-used it added to the charm. A larger entrance mat would have helped keep the dirt off the floor, though.....
A nice touch was the gas fire - it really kept the cabin cozy. We loved hearing the rushing river from inside the cabin. Pet friendly with lots of places to walk your dog. Ferigies cafe was amazing for breakfast (try the eggs benny).Private setting (maybe because we had no next door neighbours -the cabins are quite close together). Can't wait to return for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Cabin 10 is the most private, cabin 9 has been updated with a queen sized bed and updated bath and k...

Thank you for your kind words.

It is great to hear that you found our cabins clean, check in friendly, our property large enough for your pet and your breakfast at Fergie’s cafe amazing!

All of this is just enough to put a wide smile on our faces and make our team very happy.

We also appreciate your constructive feedback and we are glad to confirm, that we are slowly making our way towards getting our property renovated. At the moment, we are finishing our Fisherman’s cottage that will sleep up to 10 people, which will be great for families, weddings and get together occasions! Our next project is a full renovation of our Fergie’s cafe and hopefully, by the time you get here again, we will have more than just cabin #9 refurbished.

Have a wonderful summer and we hope to see you soon.
