We stayed here for 2 days. The hotel is very nice, but it is quite big, and there are a lot of people, mainly families with litlle children, so it can get a bit noisy and crowded. The food was very good, the rooms an very nice, clean, big. The wellness facilities and the gym is huge, with lots of options, and also lots of activities for children and adults as well. The lake is stunning. Overall, it is a good option for families to relax and have a nice, relaxing holiday.

Pros: Good hotel, outstanding wellness and spa facilities, special programs for kids, very nice view of the lake from the second flooe spa, perfect sauna world. Staff is always friendly.
Rooms are usually clean, room design is modern. Food is excellent. We have been there about 5 times since 2011.

Cons: The bar is far too expensive, the wellness area can be too crowded at times. During 4-day weekends overcrowded. Avoid these periods. Regular guests don't get any discount.
There's nothing to do in Velence outside the hotel, it's like a modern island surrounded by things of the past... The surroundings of the hotel is ugly, let's be honest (and I don't mean the lake by that.)

A nice place to spend a couple of days at. Good spa and bathing, the kids loved it. Nice athmosphere. Dull food, though. A tip to the management: Hungarian cuisine is so marvellous and tasty - why not try that instead of that boring international menu trying to satisfy everybody, succeeding to satisfy no one.

Pros: very good location, nice view to the lake, good wellness, great programs for kids: Elefulop takes it all :-) , Kata's playground and Dino club are great. Stuff is kind, and very helpful.

Cons: food is really bad. Management should spend some time and energy in finding a good chef, and make quality food for people who are willing to pay for healthy, good food (a la carte area shall be designated, currently what a la carte available is, not very good. The low budget "all inclusive" food is very bad quality. After a good swim, biking, one would like to get good quality food. Waiters, waitresses seem to be very tired and unhappy (guests feel like: oops, sorry to be here, disturbing you guys, making you work, we understand that it would be better for you if half of us went home from the hotel :-( ). Furniture in the living room of the apartments could be changed (many spots all around).

Room tips: ask for a room with a lake view. Apartments are very good for families having more kids, you can get it right by the beach, no need to take elevators, going around the internal bridges, just walk out of the living room.

We spent 4 nights in Velence Resort&Spa at the end of March and our experiences were overall good and lied up to what we expected. Although the hotel is not as elegant and axclusive as it tries to be, it offers great wellness facilities, nicely furnished and comfortable rooms, and and excellent and friendly personnel, also a great lakeside location. What it cant help, is the general audience. We sometimes try to go to a bit more expensive hotels hoping for a better guest population, but we always fail :). Screaming kids all day long, screaming kids by the pool, screaming kids during breakfast and lunch are one thing...it is always said that everyone can only tolerate their own kids screaming. So one thing worse than screaming kids, is screaming kids PLUS their own parents who cant tolerate this and are also screaming at their kids. So you may think I overemphasise this in this review, but it WAS overemphasised during our stay. Also, although the hotel offers dedicated kids pools, most parents ignore it, so all the pools are also full of screaming kids. One thing to make it worse, we had to find out that in building two all superior rooms are those kinds of double rooms, with a door in between so they can be opened into family rooms....doors with great acoustics which we were forced to find out every morning at six when our neighbour started to use......the blender. Plus the tv for the kid, plus the kid started screaming. Apart from scrwaming kids and screaming parents, in general guests are unfortunately very varied in their style which also makes relaxation difficult.
Although the hotel was fully booked for the weekend, there were three events taking place, and their participants werent booked to use the pools, so the pools werent really crowded over the weekend. However, although we were also told that event participants wont have dinner in the restaurant, on weekend nights we had to wait to get a table and it was very crowded. The food was excellent.
So, the plus side it is that it is a great hotel, good rooms, great beds, great pools, good food, friendly stuff. The minus side is the rest of the guests who make it difficult to relax and unwind.

Room Tip: Try to get a room which doesnt have a door joining it to the neighbouring room.
