prons: It was the cheapest hotel which I had found. Next to hotel is a railway station Amadora. If you want to go to Sintra- the easiest way. Next to hotel is bus station. Bus no. 106 has destination to the beach (price 3.85euro) and going about 1 hour! Next, the servis is so helpful. Room was clean, everyday we got a bottle of water. Breakfast i had included. In fact, i WASN'T hungry :)

cons: hotel is situated far away from lisboa and of course lisbona's airport. I paid for taxi to hotel 26 euro, however to airport just 13 euro!!!!! Funny, isn' t it? I don't understand this diffrence ;/
secondly, bathroom was dirty and not in room.

Well 1st impressions weren´t too good. only because my g´friend didnt tell me how much it was. yes the reception was ok, the lift a little small. but the room on the 7th floor was very plain, but adequate, 2 single hard beds, 2 huge wardrobes, free bottles of water daily, shared bathroom, was a bit off putting, but in the 6 days we stayed, i think it was used once by someone else possibly the cleaner.
due to it being a workers hotel, the breakfast room was full of workers. the breakfast was ok apart from synthetic juice, and strange toaster. but the cereal milk was fresh.
another negative, too close to noisy trains, which started running at 05.30am!!
not sure i will return, plus the train station wasnt easy to access to platforms.

Room Tip: book rooms at back of hotel

We took this hotel because of the very low price (25 EUR for double with BF) and could accept the very basic rooms with a mouldy shared bathroom outside in the corridor which is in a kind of apartment high-tower in a Lisboa suburb Amadora.

However the receptionist (=owner from Mozambique) was very unfriendly and not helpful. They promised to make some sandwhiches because we left at 4:45 am but finally only provide a Nescafe.

You can park your car free of charge outside the hotel.

Don't plan any city trip to Lisboa from this place, you'll get more central residencal for a bit more EURs if you are really on a budget trip.

We liked the location of the Hotel because it had a train station straight into Lisbon's center for less than 5 Euros return. The rooms were cleaned daily & the Buffet Breakfast was quite substantial. The surrounding area of the Hotel is under going re construction & the works start early and can be noisy.Outside the Hotel there is good lighting and its safe as everyone appears to be moving to where they need to be rather than hanging around .The staff were friendly & relaxed and the prices in the Bar were very cheap ! 90 cents for a glass of Beer,I am sure that you cannot argue with that.

Negatives: the location did look a little dodgy at night time, it is situated next to a park and local youths like to hang around there when it dark, although seemed harmless could be intimidating to some. it takes ten mins in the main lisbon square by taxi- but this cost around 12 euro each way , therefore only worth it late at night. otherwise, the train takes much longer, around 20-25 min [plus waiting] which can get tiring everyday.

Positives: lovely, friendly, honest and very helpful owners. rooms are basic, but u get what u pay for and they cleaned everyday, towels provided but chnaged once every 3 days. the bartender is also an acrobat and is absolutely hilarious- i went with my 2 other sisters and he kept us entertained every evening! amadora as a location not much to do, though v. close to sintra- which is a stunning place that everyone should visit, and of course, close to the heart of lisbon too. the restaurant/bar was small, though they are willing to adapt their menu to anything you fancy, it is a family owned business so everything is pretty liberal. you can hear trains in the morning, but we found that a good thing, as it helped wake us up! and it also on what side of the hotel you stay. The hotel is ideal for young travellers- in groups or individuals, though I would not recommend this for families or the elderly. lisbon itself an amazing place, though a lot pricier compared to other european countries. Coming from someone in her twenties- I recommend you visit Sintra for monastries/castles/palaces, Bairo Alto [for bars/clubs], Caschcai for the beaches, and Belem for arts/theatre/food.

Hassan the waiter in the cafeteria was very amable as also the guy from Moçambique...The location and all the incoveniences were according with the low price of Amadora and I loved the train station across the street, i used the train a lot. It is located near a railway station but it is not safe to walk from the station to the facility in the evening and so we had to take a taxi back every night. Taxi fares were costly, especially as drivers could not find the place easily even with GPS. Bathrooms were smelly. It was difficult to sleep at night as there was a lot of noise from trains, elevator and room doors opening and closing, and rowdy customers drinking in the downstairs cafe until late at night. It was too warm at night with no air conditioning in the room and it was not safe to keep windows open on the first floor. On our last night, there was a serious incident in the room next door. It was unsafe to leave the room and there was no phone in any room and no emergency button to alert anyone. The facility is a depressing dirty unsafe hostel, not a 3-star hotel as described to us.

We had booked a large family suite but upon arrival found out that a suitable room was not available. We were crammed into a small double room but still had to pay the same price as for a family suite.

Staff were polite and helpful. Internet service was available in the cafe.
