This is good 2.5 / 3 star hotel in outskirts of Lisbon, although is only about 18 minutes on the local train network to heat of Lisbon. We have rated this hotel as very good, primarily based on what we paid and the location (we paid about 35 euro for a double with washroom) in June! You could even pay less if you want to share the washroom with other guests. The local area looks to have been cleaned up recently - we would describe as a good old honest suburb, unlike some of the other reviews we felt perfectly safe day or night. The hotel was easy to find - less than five minute walk form (from the rail station), the room was basic but clean with a balcony and small TV (with quite a few stations, including BBC world). The breakfast was fine, nice fresh rolls with a selection of filings. Receptionist were really helpful and we had free (and fast) internet during our stay. We would for sure come back again. To get to the centre of Lisbon it was real easy using the Sintra rail line, about 18 minutes down to Rossio, they appeared to run every 20-30 minutes. From Rossie you could walk about five minutes and pick up the Open Top hop on hop off tour bus. We used the yellow bus company - and as we were in Lisbon for three days we went for the 4 in 1 (48 hour) ticket- four different loops - three on open top buses and one on good old tram - all for 25 euro - a real bargain. Finally on out third day we went to Sintra which was real surprise, again real easy from the hotel just going in the opposite direction from Lisbon - just be careful in Sintra as the Restaurant we went to over changed the us - and then could not speak English (although they could when they wanted us eat there!)- the name being Adega de café.

Great value hotel, very close to the train station, it takes only 20 minutes by train to the Lisbon city centre / Rossio. Plenty of parking space in front of the hotel. We had a quiet and comfortable room, the staff is very friendly. Perfect low budget hotel for exploring Lisbon!

Good value for money if you just need a place to sleep and wash. We have to share a shower cubicle and toilet with 3 other rooms. I stayed with 2 friends, so we have to wash quickly coz we are worried somebody might want to use the toilet which is in the same room as the shower. Taxi cost 17 euro from the airport, which is cheaper and convenient than taking the aerobus and train with luggages in tow. It helps that 3 of us sharing the taxi fare. Breakfast is very basic. We did not try the dinner. Our room is at the back of the hotel so we did not get disturbed by the noise. Surrounding Area can feel scary if you are on your own going home at night. No aircon, electric fan is adequate for us. No fridge to store your drinks but you can order a fridge and pay additional fee.Train to lisbon cost 4.10 euro (return).

Room Tip: Get a room at the back part of the hotel and with its own shower and toilet.

This (hotel?) it is in a very diverse neighborhood. There is a park next to it that is filled with yelling children during the day and at night with older individuals that don't readily appear to be outstanding citizens. I would not go out at night if you stayed here. The park is next to the railroad tracks. The lobby was fiithy, worn down and some of the staff were not very helpful. It smelled. They had a restaurant that was equally as bad. The hallways were also dirty with garbage and laundry, they were narrow and poorly lit. Our room was small, the walls were cracked, The window shutters were broke, there is no air conditioning, everything is old and worn . The bathroom was also dirty and disgusting with pubic hair on the floor, mold and cracking' peeling paint on the walls. My advice is to Find a better choice. ...............................................

First of all this is NOT a hotel it's a hostel as is inscribed on the main entrance. The reception staff were uninterested and somewhat rude. The breakfast was very basic and the dinner was inedible. The area is very rough and it felt somewhat like a ghetto!. We booked a double room but got two twin beds instead, also we didn't even have a kettle in the room and had

Hotel is approx 10 miles from Lisbon centre. Quickest and easiest access from airport is via Airport bus (1 stop only Entrecomps - flat fare €3.50 then train (Sintra line - approx 5 stops with Oyster type card and single journey charge up). Statio only 200 yards from hotel - some early morning train noise but not too bad. Do NOT access via Metro (tube line) - Amadora Este station is miles away.

Hotel high rise (8 floors). Rooms basic (2 singles, wardrobe, TV older type only 4 channels all Portugese) but well cleaned with shared bathroom. Continental breakfast buffet good (ham, cheese, salami slices, rolls, bread, coffee, cereal, juice). Evening meal good value at 10€ (soup, salad, main course - choice of 2 - sweet, coffee and wine). Best eat just after 7.00p.m. otherwise can be lukewarm.

Workmen on contract billeted in hotel from Tuesday to Friday. Good happy hour at bar (3-6 p.m.) Staff very pleasant.

Lisbon decent walking city. Alfama a must see (Tram 28 for the best views). Also Baixo, Barro Alto good. Museums at Belem (free on Sundays) and waterfront make good side trip.

Other excursions (train): Cascais great value seaside resort and fishing port. Estoril next door more upmarket. Sintra inland hill town, parklands & gardens and palaces worth a look but the town is a tourist trap.
