A warm welcome from Tracey and Alex starts a great stay in this quiet cottage just a few miles from Ludlow. Food is excellent and accomodation of a very high standard. The hosts are most welcoming. Can't be faulted.

How we are so pleased that we ended up at Timberstones. Having looked on the internet for other B&Bs in the area Timberstones came up with all our requirements. We booked as a family unit of 6 adults and 2 children under 4 so we had the place to ourselves. We arrived to be greeted by Tracy and Alex who made us feel so welcome, providing us with pots of tea and shortbread biscuits. Shortly after we had unpacked Tracy arrived with a tempting list of starters and main courses for our evening meal. We all opted for different so we tried all options and we were not disappointed one bit. Superbly presented and tasted wonderful. The salmon was so mouth watering and I am told by my brother and father that the beef casserole was superb as was the pheasant. We then were presented with 3 further choices of sweet followed by ample tea, coffee, turkish delight and chocolates.

As we were the only people staying we had the guest louge and dinning area to ourselves which on a February evening was very well used. Ample books to read and DVD's to watch as having no tele meant we relaxed and had family conversation for a change.

The rooms were extremely well presented and comfortable with a lovely en-suite in ours containing a slipper bath and walk in shower with double hand basins, crisp white linen and a cosy feel made for a blissful nights sleep.

We were staying for 3 nights so we opted to eat Tracy's wonderful food on each of the evenings and Alex's wonderful breakfasts every morning. Whilst we were there we had a dumping of snow and the children amongst us took advantage of the garden and fields around and the kindness of Alex to lend us 2 sledges. A good time was had by all. Would be better to get in and out of the lanes to the propertly with a 4x4 when snowing as can be a little slippy.

Well done to my brother in finding Timberstones and well done to Tracy and Alex for making our stay such an enjoyable, relaxing experience. We will be back.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent

We made a last minute decision to head off for the weekend and booked Timberstone by chance and we absolutely loved it! Accommodation, hospitality , food, ambience and scenery, it delivered everything . We enjoyed a wonderful evening meal with other guests and then retired to our beautiful room for a relaxing nights sleep in our very comfortable bed . The breakfast was delicious and set us up for a local walk suggested by Alex and Tracey .
We would definitely recommend this lovely place and hope to return the next time we are in the area .

My wife and I stayed here recently while visiting Ludlow and were not disappointed. All aspects of our accommodation fully met our expectations. Tracey and Alex were very helpful and caring hosts. On the advice of our daughter, who had stayed here previously, we dined in on both evenings of our stay. Before dinner, we enjoyed cocktails made by Alex. Dinner itself, prepared by Tracey, was to a very high standard. If you get the chance, order the cassoulet...delicious! Breakfast, made by Alex, was as good as any we've tasted, with most of the produce sourced locally. Overall, a great stay and well worth a return visit.

Tracey and Alex should write the book 'How to do bed and breakfast'. They are just the best! Wonderful host's, superb location, splendid breakfasts. Don't bother to book anywhere else for dinner as that reaches the same high standard. I can't imagine how our weekend could have been bettered.

Room Tip: We were a bit worried about being in the Summer House but it is excellent and gives you that small e...

Spending time at Timberstone's is akin to staying with your best friend! This is no ordinary place - it's a truly magical spot. Tracey and Alex are warm, friendly hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble. You will feel yourself relaxing as the enchantment of Timberstone's beautiful tranquil setting and beguiling atmosphere take hold of you. Time will cease to matter and if you're lucky you'll get to meet their two dogs who will be eager for some attention. There's no sign of the ubiquitous B&B refreshment tray here - no uht in plastic pots. Instead everything is fresh down to the jug of milk you'll find in your fridge. Every little detail is perfect and it's all organic, including the lovely bathroom products.

We stayed in the "garden room". This reminded me of the little lakeside huts in Sweden - charmingly simple, with marvellous views. Having requested a guided tour of the house, we can vouch that the accommodation in the main house is equally lovely but more sophisticated with fine bathrooms. There is even one room with a balcony.

Alex and Tracey are ex wine trade so you will be spoilt for choice on this front. I am hoping that they may add "clee mists" from the local Ludlow Vineyard which we discovered at the Green Cafe - a fine spot for lunch in Ludlow, down by the river. Breakfast and dinner is eaten communally at Timberstones which makes for an entertaining evening of chatter. Food is locally sourced and cooked to a very high standard and there is lots to choose from. There is bound to be something for everyone.

Ludlow is near by as are many other interesting places and walks. I can concurr that even the Michelin starred retaurants of the town were not enough to divert us from an evening in at Timberstones. If you feel like some TLC and some high quality down time - this is the place for you. You will leave totally refreshed, knowing that you'll be back one day.

Our second stay at Timberstone and it will not be the last. Tracy and Alex care so much about your stay, it is touching. The rooms are lovely and the food is superb. We stayed with friends and it is such a great venue to meet up, walk, talk and laugh.
