Our hosts were lovely - from the welcome with tea to the delicious home cooked dinner and breakfast. The quiet setting is extremely relaxing. However, when shown to our room we were immediately struck by the musty smell of damp. Perhaps we should have said something straight away, but given that everything is so wonderful about Timberstone, we gave it the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, to add to the smell we had to endure a night on the most uncomfortable mattress we've encountered - and we've travelled all around the world and tested a few! I had to keep moving from side to side becasue of the pins and needles in my arms...
We asked to check out after one night instead of staying three - we are truly gutted as had looked forward to this min-break for months. BUT - depsite the loveliness of so much about Timberstone we really felt it is unfair to charge £87.50 a night B & B and not get some of the basics such as bed and smell in room right, so we remain pleased we spoke up and came home.More
