We were bought a vineyard tour and tasting as a present, as we truly do love wine. The tour was informative and the guide was very passionate but have to admit we enjoyed the tasting far more! We bought a case of six and have really tried to only have one a week as don't want to run out - the wine is amazing, we went for the drier wines and cant fault them. We are planning a trip back to pick up more!
p.s just because the tour wasn't our thing, don't be put off, every other couple had lots of questions and seemed genuinely fascinated!

Very welcoming staff and well presented vine yard. A walk round the vines followed by some wine tasting with no pressure to buy though we came away with several bottles as the wine tasted wonderful. We stayed and had a picnic on the lovely grounds, overall an unexpected treasure of a place to visit. Well done to all.

Took a couple of friends as a birthday treat on a Groupon deal. The tour was informative, informal and not too long. The vineyard was very well kept and seemed to be flourishing. We were given a fascinating talk on the process of wine making and had an excellent wine tasting session where we tried the whole Shawsgate spectrum of wines, including fizz. We were tempted by several wines. I particularly liked the Bacchus and we bought a mixed box to take home. Well worth a visit.

I treated my husband to a tour, wine tasting and lunch at Shawsgate. We arrived in good time and made use of the tea, coffee and biscuits welcome. Father and son team split the group into 2 and we each toured the vines and the making process. Both were very informative and very passionate about their wine. The wine-tasting itself was interesting and gave us the chance to test the whole spectrum of the English wines grown at Shawsgate. Lunch was basic and nothing to write home about but a nice social occasion. Would recommend to others.

We left it very late to book the wine tasting and tour but Les (the owner) bent over backwards to fit us in.

He gave lots of accommodation suggestions and advice on the local area. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him. He is a very nice guy.

One we arrived Les was in the car park welcoming his guests, right from the off, he was welcoming and funny.

He runs the tours and tasting with his son Thomas. They are both very relaxed and knowledgeable.

The whole afternoon was very humorous and good fun.

We had booked using a voucher through WH Smiths gift ideas. We caused him issues with booking late but that did not matter to him and then to top things off...... We arrived having forgot the voucher!!!

We could not believe this. We spoke with Les and Thomas and they were very understanding and we arranged to take the voucher the following day.

Nothing seemed too much trouble for them.

Absolute brilliant day.

First class.
