“The Perfect Escape”

If you need to escape from the world, this place is for you. It is set in quiet countryside but has some interesting places to visit only a short drive away, such as Sutton Hoo, Aldeborough, Orford and Framlingham Castle.

The barn is beautifully presented with quality furniture and kitchen items. Our only gripe was the small shower and wash basin in the little shower room. We found them a bit tricky to use but this wouldn't prevent us from returning for another break. We didn't get round to using the hot tub as we had to leave earlier than expected but it looked very inviting with the pretty coloured lights on the barn beside it. Next time! We made full use of the wood-burner though.

Rosalind was very helpful and made us so welcome. It was really lovely to walk in and find an anniversary balloon, card and cake and a bottle of fizz in the fridge.

Perhaps the highlight of our stay was watching the little birds on both patios while we were having morning coffee. We saw a robin, blue-tits, great-tits, chaffinches and pied wagtails. If only I'd had my camera to hand when a little blue-tit came to drink at the water butt just outside the window! We also added a squirrel running around on the tennis court, a rabbit and two moorhens to our list.

Hoping we'll be able to make a return visit in the not too distant future.

Thankyou both for your lovely review. It would be our pleasure to have you both return at anytime in the future. We are so glad that you liked Willows Barn and its setting and there is certainly plenty to do in the surrounding countryside as well as play tennis and relax in the hot tub right outside the door. There are lots of lovely birds around and RSPB Minsmere is a mere 35 minute drive away and has a lovely cafeteria as well as a brilliant setting for birdwatching. Yes - the sink in the ensuite is a sweet little corner sink - perfectly in proportion to the room and perfect for brushing teeth and face washing - if anything bigger needs to be done there is, after all, a huge double butler sink in the kitchen. Also the shower is a large corner shower - an Aquata - a high end make - and has an easy glide door so that once you are inside there is plenty of room to soak away the stress of everyday life and if a bath is more to your liking the pretty roll top bath is just next to the ensuite. Do come back and enjoy the barn at anytime. kind regards Rosalind and Kevin.

Perfect accommodation in an idyl setting, just what we needed to celebrate our Pearl anniversary. On arrival there was a bottle of wine chilling, some cake, a balloon and a card from the owners, Rosalind and Kevin, which was a perfect start to our weekend. The Barn is beautiful, so well equipped for any length of stay. It is tastefully decorated and every detail has been thought of, specially the roll top bath in the bedroom and the wonderful private hot tub. Even a tennis court for the more energetic. Framlingham is a lovely little town about a five minute drive away, with a castle, shops, cafes and pubs which serve some lovely food. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at Willows Barn and would definitely visit again.

Thankyou so much for your wonderful review. We are both so pleased that you loved your Anniversary treats on arrival and that you enjoyed your special stay at Willows Barn. Framlingham is a wonderful market town full of character and lovely local shops as well as a Tuesday and Saturday market with many nice eateries and is great to while away a holiday weekend. We are pleased you liked it too! It would be our pleasure to have you both return anytime - and your family too as they have also stayed with us. kind regards Rosalind and Kevin.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful barn. Our first impression was how clean and fresh it looked.
The hot tub was so relaxing, and the tennis court was a real bonus.
But what we enjoyed most was the blisfull peace and quiet, broken only by gentle birdsong. The Barn is completely private, and not overlooked by anyone.
The nearby village of Framlingham features a lovely castle which is definitely worth a visit.
A 30 minute drive gets you to the unspoilt beauty of Southwold, or to the seaside town of Aldeburgh, where the Brudenell hotel has a wonderful seafood restaurant.
The owners of Willows Barn were so kind and helpful, not that we needed to ask any questions; everything is explained very clearly. We intend returning there soon..
Thank you Rosalind and Kevin.

Thankyou so much for your thoughtful review. We enjoyed welcoming you both to Willows Barn and are thrilled that you loved your stay. We enjoy maintaining the gardens and the barn itself so that it means our guests enjoy their arrival and the rest of their stay. The hot tub is a great way to relax after a busy day of sightseeing or a game of tennis and we are so glad you enjoyed them both - and the birds too! We are not far from RSPB Minsmere which is well worth a visit. It would be our pleasure to have you both return at anytime in the future - kind regards Rosalind and Kevin.

We have just spent two wonderful weeks in Willows Barn. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind then Willows Barn is 'Just Perfect'. It's owners Rosalind and Kevin have created a truly magical place for two people to stay. Wonderfully spacious and elegantly furnished accommodation, an inviting hot tub and 'your own' tennis court - all set in beautifully tended grounds.

Although you have the perfect peace and privacy of staying in the countryside you are only 35 minutes pleasant stroll into the lovely little market town of Framlingham. The walk takes you along quiet country lanes, passing through fields of wheat and corn on either side. Framlingham has a Norman Castle and a stunning Parish Church. Buy some cheese, quiche or fresh bread (from the famous Pump Street Bakery) from Leo's Deli and sit outside the Dancing Goat Cafe drinking very good coffee and watching the 'world go by' across on the Market Square.

Nearby is the lovely seaside town of Aldeburgh with its famous Crag Path walk to Thorpeness and equally famous fish and chips. Snape Maltings is also nearby and a visit to Orford is a must. Just up the A12 takes you to the famous seaside town of Southwold with its myriad of coloured bathing huts. South on the A12 takes you to Sutton Hoo - a truly fabulous and remarkable place to visit.

We have stayed in many very good holiday cottages over the last 20 years but Willows Barn comes right at the top of the list.

It's 'Just Perfect'.

Thankyou both very much and we are just so pleased that you both enjoyed your holiday at Willows Barn and that you loved Framlingham and its surrounding area as much as we do. You have summed up the perfect holiday. We are both keen gardeners and really enjoy spending time in the garden trying to add a bit to it each year. Many thanks again for the wonderful review. kind regards Rosalind and Kevin.

“Perfect birthday break”

My hubby booked willows barn as a birthday treat for me for 3 nights and it didn't disappoint from the moment we arrived we was blown away with the high standard that this barn had to offer hot tub our own tennis court & all the mod cons available in the barn. Rosalind & Kevin certainly made us feel welcome with a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge homemade cake little bottles of rose & a card & balloon to help me kickstart my birthday celebrations what a lovely gesture the owners are around if you need them but don't disturb you unless needed even doing silent checks first thing in the morning to the hot tub. Even though it rained for most of our break it didn't dampen our spirits with trips to framlingham castle & Aldeburgh beach food in framlingham was fantastic with rumbles fish & chip shop & a must is the prince of India curry house. The area surrounding the barn is so tranquil & peaceful the only thing you will hear is the wildlife, missing the barn already as on our return home all we hear is noise we will definitely like to book again & would definitely recommend this barn. Thanks to Rosalind & Kevin for an outstanding retreat.

Thank you both so much for your perfect review. The feelings you described when you arrived are just why we love welcoming people into Willows Barn and it makes us so happy to know that you loved your break, the design in the barn, the facilities and all the welcome treats. Yes, we have got really quiet at checking the hot tub each day so that our guests can lie in and not be disturbed by us! Thrilled that you got out and about to see the local sights and sample some of the foodie treats.
It would be our absolute pleasure to welcome you back to Willows Barn again and thankyou for your recommendation to family and friends. with best regards Rosalind and Kevin.

“Very relaxing mini-break!”
Reviewed 17 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Just came back from a lovely 4 nights away at this very peaceful & relaxing holiday home :). Only a lil trip down the road for us but still very lovely. Visiting the local area (on days it didn't rain) was Fab! Trips to the Castle & Sutton Hoo were really enjoyable as we hadn't been for years!
We were greeted by an Anniversary Balloon & Bubbly, Wine in the fridge & Homemade cake (very yummy!).
We did 'attempt' tennis as we were enjoying Wimbledon and loved relaxing in the hot tub every evening.
Overall, very peaceful, cosy and modern place to stay- I'm sure we will visit again!
Perfect way to spend our 1st Wedding Anniversary!!
Thank you sooo much for everything! :)

What a lovely review. Thankyou both very much. It was our absolute pleasure welcoming you for your anniversary and we would love to have you visit Willows Barn again, glad you liked the welcome treats too. Great that you dodged the showers to fit in some lovely trips. Framlingham Castle is wonderful and Kevin and I go most years as the views and sense of history are magical - as is Sutton Hoo - our best visit there was on a misty morning like the one Edith Pretty had when she sensed there was something buried under her lawns - the rest as they say is history... Glad you loved the tennis court and the great thing is that all the hedges around the court make for a totally private game. Perhaps come back in the winter when you can snuggle up in front of the woodburner! with kind regards Rosalind and Kevin

“Relaxing break at Willows Barn”
Reviewed 9 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Just returned from five wonderful nights at Willows Barn. The accommodation is lovely and just perfect for two! Rosalind & Kevin made us very welcome and have thought of everything. Willows Barn is well equipped, with a very comfy bed and brilliant little kitchen, what a treat to have a tennis court and hot tub just outside our door! We made full use of both and still had tIme to explore Framlingham and beautiful Suffolk. The Barn is situated in a beautiful location and it was so peaceful to sit outside and enjoy our surroundings, breakfast, lunch and Pims! Looking forward to visiting again!

What a perfect review, thank you both very much. It was our pleasure having you to stay and we would love for you both to return, anytime! When we built Willows Barn we designed it on the footprint of old agricultural buildings after doing some research. It just seems to have snuggled in to its spot like it has always been there. So glad you loved the tennis court and the hot tub - the court is ten paces from the barn door and the tub three so they are very easy to get to and totally private and secluded so easy to relax. Looking forward to welcoming you both again soon. kind regards Rosalind and Kevin
