This is one of mine, and my daughters, favourite places to visit. I am an English Heritage member, and visit Framlingham Castle (even though its a good 2 hour drive) three or four times a year. There is a wonderful relaxed atmosphere about it, and you can let your imagination rund wild, and rebuild the castle iand see it as it was. The poor hous from the Dickensian times is fascinating, and the history of the castle and how it passed dwon through the times is astounding. The walk around the top of the battlements is highly recommended with the audio tour to tell all about it and the area as well. Just the size, majesty and grandeur of the castle is worth the visit alone, without all the added extras of the views and perhaps an historic event or re-enacrment taking place, which are very well done by English Heritage. All in all, a great day oout for young and old alike! Just let your imagination run wild and thoroughly immerse yourself in history.
