“Fantastic family trip”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

We visited with a 3yo & 6yo, both enjoyed it. Narrow steps to climb to the top but worth it for the views. If a member of the party can't access the steps they can wait on picnic tables inside the walls and enjoy the view or watch you from there. Purchased some swords at the end and enjoyed a battle of our own on the grass.Small number of hands-on activities are well chosen. My 3yo particularly enjoyed the film depicting the history of the castle, which adults alike thoughts was well made, educational and fun. Make sure your visit Framlingham market after for a wonderful half day out.

“Fantastic excellent trip for the family.”

Ousing history. Kids loved walking the walls. Worth also visiting Framlingham church where Surrey, Norfolk and Henry VIII's illegitimate son are buried.

“Been 3 times and always enjoy it”

The history, the views and having a picnic in the grounds always make this a day out to remember. Framlingham is also worth a visit.

“Magnificent views!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

We visited the castle on a sunny day and it was worth a visit. Great views from the top wall. Climbing those narrow steps to the top was a bit of a let down but all was forgiven when we were up there. Audio guide did help with a brief description of where were were.
We took a walk around the castle and it was fantastic. The moat, the bridge and the surrounding field is worth seeing.
Friendly staff at the ticket office, and very helpful too.
I will definitely come back!

“Historical gem”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

My husband and I called at Framlingham Castle whilst on holiday from North Wales. We drove through the charming little village and found this huge castle. Although a ruin we were able to walk right round it on the walls. We were given audio handsets which were very helpful and interesting. The ladies in the ticket office were very pleasant and helpful. We ended up joining English Heritage with some help from a lovely lady called Carole Mann. She was so pleasant and not at all "pushy". Thanks Carole for saving us some money you are an asset to English Heritage
