We stayed 1 night on our bike tour of East Anglia in July 2014. The staff accommodated our bikes in a lock-up outbuilding. The room was HUGE- with a huge bathroom, overlooking the market square. The walls and floors were all uneven which added to the authenticity of the place- its been doing this job since the 1500's. Our meal in the restaurant was great, even though the young waiter kept apologising for the wait due to a "calamity" in the kitchen. It was only 10 mins later than expected. Wide range of beers/ciders available, and freshly cooked breakfast next morning. Places like this restore my faith in the quality of independent hotels.
One word of warning- the church bells chime every 15 minutes, which is a downside of the market square view.
