Description: There's a warm welcome waiting for you at The Railway Inn, Framlingham. Redecorated by the new owners, Barry and Liz Jones, this is a truly traditional English Pub with a large front bar which boasts bar stools, bar seating area and dining tables, not to mention the best seats in the house, two Edwardian wingbacks in front of the real open fire. The railway also has it's very own snug bar, for quiet dining and private conversation, you'll love the warm and cosy atmosphere. Add to these bars the sports bar, with Pool, Darts and SKY Sports on the big screen, the Railway has it all! Barry, owner and Chef, provides truly gorgeous food at exceptional prices to make your tum and pocket happy. Lovely gardens out back for the summertime and paved area to the side which is a real suntrap.

Good food, freshly cooked. My partner had the fish and chips which he rated his 'best ever' and I had the salmon on crushed new potatoes with chilli and lime sauce - I enjoyed the salmon but thought the sauce wasn't as good as I had hoped (it seemed a bit like balsamic vinegar to me?).
Beer was good and the ambiance too. We would go there again if in the area.

Had high hopes for this place when it reopened a few months ago. The new landlord has decorated it, given it a new lease of life and really changed things for the better. Not least of which is the food. I have eaten there 3-4 times in the last couple of months and I am always very happy. The food is freshly cooked and at a decent price, not to mention being very tasty.
The landlord is a nice guy and the pub is a really good place to be for a couple of pints or a meal.

Good selection of real ales and draft cider. The food is not fancy but proper pub food. There is a nice outside seating area to watch the world go by

Had a lovely meal here. My husband went for Adnams beer battered fish and chips, while I had salmon on crushed new potatoes with chilli and lime sauce. Two clean plates are testimony to the quality of the food,. It was a Wednesday evening and was reasonably quiet although we had booked to make sure of a table. The lemon tartlet was tangy and a generous jug of custard came with it.

Lunch for a party of 6 pre-booked, bar not overly busy, but it took nearly an hour for food to arrive. Nothing complicated. Was it worth waiting for???? Not really.
