The hotel Leopold is a very pleasant hotel to stay in,it is very clean and although it has not been completely modernized yet it is well on the way to getting there !that is the only complaint we would have ,the workmen started work drilling etc at 7-30 in the morning ad I think we should have been warned about that before we arrived even so we did enjoy our stay in Brussels ,it is a lovely city to visit!

Dear charlesr312
Thanks for your kind words regarding your recent stay with us. Yes, we have an ongoing renovation programme and are well over half way with the rooms and public areas. We do have a notice on our website and on Google+ saying their are some works...
The wrokmen are in the hotel from 0730 but do not start any noisy waork until 0830 to 0900 and do not work at the weekends. Heavy drilling does not start until 1000 and all work is done by 1500
We look forward to your next stay with us

We stayed for 8 nights and the hotel was clean and nice. Is next to the Thron subway station and has shops ans restaurants next to it. Good breakfast even if the vegrtables sometimes are completely missing. The stuff is not so friendly and are overloaded. The rooms are ok and clean.
The main desadvantage is the internet that is not free in the rooms. You have to pay extra for this.
In conclusion is a quality hotel with very good price.

Dear Raluc Andrea T
Thank you for spending 8 nights with us ! We are very happy to read you enjoyed your stay.
Sorry if you seemed to miss some vegetables at breakfast - we always have hot baked beans and mushrooms/tomatoes plus a small salad selection. Sometimes (when the vultures attack around 0930) we cannot refil the bowls quick enough :( . but we get there in the end ! I will have a word with the breakfast staff to make sure they smile more - they really are very friendly, sometimes you just have to say hello ...

Stayed three nights at the Hotel Leopold in Brussels on a Eurostar based short break. The hotel is virtually over the road from the EU Parliament and within easy walking distance from the city centre, the Imperial Palace and most of the cities museums. Our room was more of a suite on the second floor. Comfy bed and all you could require for a short break. The room was very quiet and immaculately clean. The included breakfast was excellent and kept us going all day. We ate in the restaurant each evening and the food was delicious, the steaks being particularly good. The menu was varied and should include food to suit all tastes. Buses from the Eurostar station stop close to the Hotel as well as buses to the city centre. The Troone metro station is around 300m from the hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and speak fluent English.

We are very proud of the quality and value for money of our hotel and our cosy Brasserie Leopold. Food is simple, fresh and local !
For transportation you can also take the metro from the Eurostar station (Midi/Zuid) - its just 5 stops and we are 200m from the Airport Express buses 12 and 21
We look forward to welcoming you back next time you are in Brussels

I have stayed in many hotels in Brussels both on work trips and for short breaks with my family, this was my first visit to the Leopold, with a group of friends for a whistle stop tour of Art Nouveau Houses and the Flea Markets, so we only stayed one night.
What is so good about the Leopold is the attention to detail, you can tell its not a chain hotel but one run with thoughtfullnes and caring toward the guests .
From the moment we arrived early and they stowed our bags away safely for later check in, to the complimentary drink, and the info about their current refurb [ which is excellent by the way ] I was impressed. The rooms have been modernised and the neutral pallette of the bed/ bathrooms with walk in showers is of a very high standard, and quite restfull.
The breakfast room in a light and airy conservatory extension is also very good..and the very freshly baked croissants impressed me..one of out party thought the coffee superb too.... I will return..in Oct and write more..

Room Tip: Rue de Luxembourg can be a busy street, [ though not so much at weekends.] as it leads to the Euro P...

Dear dornfordyates
Thanks very much for trusting us with your small group booking and for writing such a glowing review.
As you point out we are a privately run hotel and try to do things a bit differently - a home from home in Brussels. Glad to see you appreciated the small touches - free Dandoy ginger biscuits in the rooms, fresh flowers round the hotel, decoration that changes with the seasons...
WE are looking forward to welcoming you back in October :)

Lower-class 4-star hotel but clean, efficient and - most of all - ideally located in the business district and very close to the Place du Luxembourg, the European Commission, trains stations etc. Really good value for money. Friendly multi-lingual staff.

Room Tip: This hotel is built into several buildings, the rooms vary heavily in size and shape.

Dear virchow
Thank you for taking the time to give us your opinions of your stay with us. Its great to see that we looked after you well and you appreciated the staff's service and friendliness.
As you point out we are in an historic set of buildings near the European Parliament and we have a large variety of rooms. This is why we ask our guests to book direct and speak to us about their needs. That way we can give the best price (don't believe the nonsense you hear about Trivago, Booking.com ets having the best prices) and the most suitable service :)

This hotel was let down by the attitude of some of the staff, the room and food was first class. We were met late at night by some grumpy night attendant who gave the impession he could not care less. Not all the staff were like this and most of them were very pleasant. One chap who was behind the desk during the day just shrugged his shoulders when you asked him anything. As I say room and food first class just the manners of some of the staff let the place down.

Dear walkerburnwanderer
Thank you for your kind words about the quality of our hotel and our food. We are sure we provide excellent value for money.
I am sorry to hear that you did not think all our staff had the right attitude. We certainly do care about our guests and our staff are renowned for their high level of customer service. I have spoken with all the staff on duty during your stay and I think it is just a question of cultural and language differences...Our chap on Reception in the mornings is a native French and Italian speaker - he says he finds regional UK accents difficult to follow when people speak quickly and I am sorry to say Scottish accents can often be a problem for 'foreigners'. We all do our best but sometimes misunderstandings do occur...
Our Reception staff always willingly act as tourist information point, spending many hours explaining what to see, how to get there, selling bus tickets etc
Once more sorry that you didn't feel all our staff were doing their best but I cna assure you they really have our guests best interests at heart

Me and my partner have just returned from a four night stay at the Leopold hotel I couldn't fault it. We arrived 3hours earlier than the recommended check in time due to an early flight, our room was ready and the receptionist was really friendly. We ordered a standard double for our stay but when we went up to the room we were surprised to find it was a spacious apartment , we thought there was a mistake so we went to the reception where we found out they gave us a free up grade , I was so happy. If I do go back to Brussels I will defiantly be stay there again , I loved it.

Great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us ! We try to check guests in on arrival, even if you are a little early :) Sometimes it isn't possible but we obviously do what we can - we can always take your luggage whilst you go off and explore Brussels.
I will pass on your comments regarding our friendly staff to Reception. They will be happy to see that their hard work and dedication is appreciated !
We look forward to welcoming you back to your home from home in Brussels
