Many thanks for choosing Renaissance Hotel for your recent stay in Brussels and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We thank you for your lovely comments regarding the hotel location and our modern, clean rooms with our famous Marriott bedding. We would also like to thank you for your comments regarding our helpful and efficient staff. Our aim is to make each of our guest feel welcome and leave with a memorable Renaissance experience. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to have the pleasure of accommodating you soon.
I have been a regular guest (avg 7-8 stays per year) at this hotel for the last 8 years, and I am sad to report that the once stellar quality of this hotel is falling FAST. As a Marriott Rewards Gold member, I have access to the Club Lounge, which used to be an absolute delight - now is it down-right insulting to the guests. While the breakfast offered in the Lounge is still nice (and the woman who tends to the breakfast guests is one of the highlights of the staff), the evening serving has gone WAY downhill. The Club used to offer lots of little salads, appetizers and 2 hot chafing dishes full of goodies ... but in the last 2 years, they offer the same 3 snacks (rotate over 3 evenings) that are just terrible. Appetizers are supposed to be served from 5:30-7:30, and dessert form 7:30-9:30; if they run out of appetizers before 7:30, the evening attendants (who are just RUDE to the guests) refused to refill the platters and/or (now) one chafing dish. The hotel is fully booked nearly every evening, so why are they being so CHEAP???? And I haven't seen any dessert served in over a year.
The front desk staff is usually nice and accomodating, but you can get a rude employee every now and then - and I'm a frequent guest; imagine how rude they can be to a new guest.
The gym facilities are excellent; but beware - the gym (commercial, open to the general public who have memberships) is very busy M-F evenings after 6pm.
The place around the corner has many bus lines that stop, so you can get nearly anywhere in Brussels without having to transfer.
The Metro is a short 4-blocks away.
If you're looking for freshly prepared, mostly organic and some vegan food choices, try EXKI in the place. Highly recommended.
As a Marriott Rewards Gold member (who will make Platinum this year), it is nice to be rewarded for your loyalty to the Marriott brand - but this hotel is fastly forgetting about loyalty to their/Marriott's regulars. May be time for me to find a new hotel to frequent in Brussels.
Thank you for your recent stay at the Renaissance Brussels Hotel and for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am very dismayed to read your comments and I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences experienced. As an Elite member we value your loyalty and offer several benefits, for example free internet and access to our Club Lounge during the week offering a generous breakfast in the morning and light snacks in the evening in a private area for our loyal guests to receive some appetizers and savory items in order to open their senses to be ready for dinner. Indeed, we are no longer serving deserts however we do provide whole fruits.
Please rest assured we reviewed all the points you mentioned with our new F&B management team and the concerned departments. We were very disappointed to hear about the service you experienced at the club lounge for the evening snacks and even more disappointed to once again not have exceeded your expectations during your stay with us. In order to prevent this on occurring again we planned extra trainings to all our associates to help them being more proactive and friendly service to all our guests. Our aim is to satisfy all individual needs and to ensure that all our guests will keep a most memorable experience with us.
Your feedbacks were very constructive for the improvement of our department and once again we thank you for raising these points with us. We hope to have the chance in welcoming you again and meeting personally in order to follow up on the improvement of the mentioned points and hopefully we will be able to exceed your expectations by showing you our Marriott Spirit. Please feel free to contact us directly and we will be delighted to arrange your stay with us.
This hotel is just outside the European Parliment. if you come to Brussels for business with European Parliment, this is a perfect location. From airport, you can take airport bus (0nly 3.50 Euro) and walk about 150m from the last stop. Or, find your way to Luxembug metro station then walk 75m. The hotel room is clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast and lunch buffets were very good. Only complain is the in room WiFi signal is weak (there is wired internet). There are a few restaurants outside the parliment building. However, being in a business office area, the neighborhood is like a dead town after 5pm. If you are in Brussels for vacation, I would recommend hotels hear Grand Place.
Thank you for choosing Renaissance Hotel for your stay in Brussels and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Indeed we are ideally located in the European Quarter, next to the Parliament and two minute walk from the Square Luxembourg offering transportation to the city. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us mainly due to our friendly and helpful staff and our lovely selection of breakfast and lunch buffet. We have taken notes of your comments regarding internet as a chance to improve. We hope to see you soon at the Renaissance Brussels Hotel.
This hotel is very comfortable with very good sized rooms. It's in a convenient location, just 30 minutes walk from the Grand Place, and right next door to the European Parliament.
The front desk, transport desk and restaurant staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Our stay was a special treat for my friend who was celebrating an important birthday, and we are very grateful to the staff who made her feel extra special.
The bar staff were definitely more casual and not very interested in serving us. The health suite staff made it clear that their private members were more important than hotel guests. There weren't always towels available for the pool, and the pool itself was extremely overheated.
If you arrive by plane, take the bus 12 or 21 from the airport. It stops just by the Place de Luxembourg, 5 minutes walk from the hotel, and costs only 3.50 euros. Buy your ticket from the machine just before you go into the bus station at the airport. Ticket machines for the return bus to the airport are at Troon metro station (also 5 minutes walk from the hotel).
We would like to thank you for choosing Renaissance Brussels hotel for this special occasion for you and your friend. We are extremely happy to hear that our colleague anticipated your needs and made your friend feel special. This is the Marriott service we strive to provide. We are dismayed to hear the World Class Center did not exceed your expectations mainly due to the general attitude of their staff, and the pool was not up to your standards. We have taken your feedback as an opportunity to improve our spirit to serve. Thank you for the useful information regarding transport from the airport to our hotel. This is very useful for all our future discoverers. We hope you will visit us next time you are in Brussels.
Rooms: Modern Decor and Funiture, with lots of storage space. Large king sized beds (we had requested this) They were adequetly kept, although a little dusty) and had thick curtains, and we heard no noise so there were no disturbances during sleep. The tv was large and had a broad variety of foreign tv channels. Bathroom was good with all the usual amenities. Thankfully they provided lots of pillows and a thich duvet. Very comfortable bed/room.
Breakfast: The profit the hotel makes on breakfast must be huge as the price is large, but the qualty is poor. The cooked breakfast was terrible. The bacon was purely fat, the sausages were rubbery, the beans were bland, I could go on! The pattiserie section was good I have to admit. However, the fruit was disgusting! It tasted very metally as if it had been kept in an iron box?! Also the fruit juice left something to be desired as it was quite watered down. Thankfully we had this included in our price, but if we had paid €25 for it then I would have been very angry. Tables are quite squashed together too.
Service: Service was faultless and the reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
Location: Good location for both EU and Brussels city centre (via foot/metro/bus)
Hotel Facilties: We didnt get the chance to use the pool/spa/gym but when upon looking it seemed adequate albeit quite crowded. There is a nice bar to have a night cap if you so wish. We were very surprised to see that wifi/internet is not included and the fee is quite steep. For the price of the rooms this is ridiculous!
Value: The room rates seem to fluctuate enormously, but we paid around 300£ for 3 nights. I would not pay more for this hotel as it may have the Renaissance/Merriott name, but it doesn't do it justice.
Overall: Overall, it is a very good and decent hotel which caters for everything you so need. Just don't necessarily expect everything to be top notch.
Many thanks for choosing Renaissance Hotel for you recent stay in Brussels and for taking the time to share your experience with us. Indeed we are located in the European Quarter, near the Parliament and a three minute walk from the square Luxembourg where you have transportation links for all over the city. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our large rooms and had a good night sleep with no outside disturbance. We always provide extra pillows in the rooms to accommodate each guest preference. We have recently changed our TV for LCD TV’s offering a variety of channels in several languages. I would like to apologize for the fact that the breakfast did not exceed you expectations mainly due to the fact that the breakfast did not meet your expectations. Please note that we have shared your comments with the concerned departments and have used your feedback as an occasion to excel in our weak areas We sincerely hope to have the pleasure of accommodating you soon at the Renaissance Brussels hotel and we hope you will have the occasion to try our lovely swimming pool.
A great location, is just minutes away from the next Metro and bus station. The hotel is located in a really calm part of Brussels (note: if you use your GPS, wright as City 'Ixelles' and not Brussels). We have booked a special offer including free admission to the Spa, free breakfast and free parking. The hotel staff is overall really helpful and friendly. The rooms are a bit old fashioned, but very clean and nice. The bed was really good, comfy and clean!
The breakfast is really good, a big buffet.
The most worst part of the hotel is the Spa, I have learned, it belongs not to the hotel but is part of a private club. That caused problems. You have to use your own towels from the room, otherwise you got a discussion with the staff. The floor at the pool area was as dirty as never seen before in a hotel. We were shocked! The ceiling there is also in a very bad condition.
After the pool experience we asked the staff for towels, because we wanted to try the sauna. Not good idea... They tried to explain, this is a private club, has nothing to do with the hotel, the can´t give us towels... Honestly, this is not my problem. I was only hotel guest and wanted to relax in the spa area, not discuss the issues. That experience ruined the great beginning of our stay in this hotel. The next day I mentioned it at the desk but the staff were not really interested in our story. Bad.
Thank you for choosing Renaissance Hotel for your stay in Brussels.
Indeed, the location of the Hotel, being in the very center of the European Quarter is ideal for both business and Leisure Travellers. We are only a two minute walk from Square Luxembourg where there are plenty of hip restaurants and bars to choose from and also direct access to all parts of the city by bus. We appreciate your lovely comments regarding our helpful and friendly staff and also our clean rooms with our divine Marriott beds. I would like to apologize for the general attitude given to you by the staff from the World Class center. This is absolutely not the Marriott service we strive to provide. Our aim is to satisfy all individual needs and to ensure that all our guests will keep a most memorable experience. Please note that we have taken your comments as a chance to improve. Please come visit us next time you will be Brussels.
