we are a family of 4 ( 2 kids 9 & 4 yrs old ) and stayed here for 1 night for a stop over in our Europe Holiday. the stay was pleasant and food was decent ..

My Reco's for the place are
1. Good location and makes travel inside brussels pretty easy
2. WIFI is chargeable and quite expensive ...Free WIFI is restricted to the lobby and was very average quality ... this is the only place in our entire holiday that we had this ... Hotel Mgmt should look into please
3. Breakfast was included in our package and was pretty decent .. I however think they should have a Egg counter at least so that we can get fresh fried eggs :-) .....
4. Service was pretty decent

Room Tip: Use free Wifi in the lobby area :-) .... Room WIFI is quite expensive and unless you are on a Office...

We loved our stay at the Renaissance. We were able to walk to the major parts of town and the staff was very accommodating. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. It was also highly affordable.

We stayed here as I know the Renaissance is a trusted hotel brand. Upon check in we were told wifi was not included and asked if we wanted to spend 10 euros a day for wifi in our room, or we could use the free wifi in the lobby. Obviously we decided to stick with the free wifi, unaware the wifi was appalling and hardly worked. On the last day we mentioned it at the front desk and they told us that it hadn't been working and were given guest wifi for free... I would not have been happy if we did pay! They also asked if we wanted to opt in for breakfast at the bargain price of 15 euros each per day (rather than the 25 euros each). We thought this was incredibly expensive and decided to get our breakfast elsewhere, plenty of restaurants near by that do breakfast much cheaper.

The room itself was very nice. A great bath which is always a plus as lots of hotels are now opting in for shower only and a very comfy bed.

We also popped down to the pool on our first day, we didn't go back after that, the sauna is nice but that's all I can say is good. The pool and changing rooms are very run down and although there are lots of staff on duty you will always see them sitting around having a chat. The changing rooms absolutely stunk, I thought it might have just been the ladies but my boyfriend said the mens did too so maybe a problem with the drains? The pool has seen better days, run down and used to have a jaquzzi, but now just has a block of wood on the top of it and a few garden chairs. Very strange.

Brussels - Luxembourg station is very close and the hotel is a short walk to the city centre.

After several great stays at this hotel over a number of years we had some problems the last time we stayed so switched to their Grand Place hotel, also in Brussels, for our last visit.

Having had over 10 enjoyable stays at the Rue De Parnasse hotel we decided to give it one more chance and was glad we did.

Everything about the weekend was perfect , including seeing our favourite concierge in the world 'Joe' who we think is the nicest man we have ever met in any hotel!. We were also impressed with the bar and breakfast staff too who were very welcoming.

Although not in the centre of Brussels, unlike the Grand Place Marriott, it is only a pleasant 30 minute walk though a park to the centre which helps walk off the pleasant lunches available in the centre.

Glad we took the chance and look forward to returning later this year.

Room Tip: We have not booked one of the 08 suites for some time but if you want that extra bit of luxury they...

Stayed one night inn deluxe room with view over the city. Large and clean room, very pleasant staff and good breakfast. The hotel is situated within a few minutes walking distance to «beer mania» shop. European parliament and Luxembourg square in the vicinity.

We have just returned from a 3night stay here. Overall the room was excellent, however the service leaves a lot to be desired.

First off check in- in spite of arriving after 3pm we were told our room wasn't ready. On questioning this, we were swapped into another room. Then we were told of a special offer - €59 per night would secure free wifi, breakfast and an upgrade. It didn't seem like much of a deal to us so we declined. We were then offered a weekend rate for breakfast- €15 each instead of €25. We agreed to this for the Saturday morning. We had breakfast (nothing special- service was slow, especially in replenishing food).

We checked out today (Monday) to be told that breakfast for 3days had been added to the bill. We explained that we only ate breakfast on the Saturday. The receptionist was very rude, didn't believe us, basically accused us of being idiots for not understanding that the deal was for 3days (not what we had been told when we took on the offer) she then had lots of tutting, huffing and generally being very put out by us, but she did waver the charges. It spoilt what was a present stay- issues happen and maybe there was a misunderstanding onnour part, but this recetionists attitude was appalling.

Overall, I would stay again at the same room rate but I think the breakfast is not worth the money or the aggravation. Their receptionist needs further training in handling customers.

Stayed again last weekend for 1 night including breakfast. We have slept here often over the last 4-5 years so it's easy to compare it to what it used to be.
The hotel was fully booked (because of the long weekend) so check in was a bit slower than usual and an early check in wasn't possible (we were asked to come back at 3 pm).
I requested a king bed (the queen size beds in most rooms are a bit small to our liking) and that is what we got so no complaints there. The hotel often sells rooms at very low prices during the weekends so it's often very busy, especially during breakfast. This was definitely the case on sunday morning! Very very busy and many items weren't replenished in time (the staff was working hard though!). I must say that we were a bit dissapointed with what was on offer compared to our previous stays: no more smoked salmon, no more self-service waffle machine, no more cheese platter (only cheese slices) etc. I do understand that people pay lower prices during the weekends but I think that a hotel should stay consistent in what they offer, regardless of the amount of money that people have paid.
The swimming pool is still a nice touch, as is the gym and sauna; Unfortunately parking isn't free anymore during the weekends (but it's free 2 streets away on saturdays and sundays).
The lobby has changed since our last visit (it had those nice, colorful contemporary furnishings which were now replaced by some slightly shabby looking black leather sofas??
The lobby bar also looks more like a Starbucks now (with Starbucks logos everywhere!), not very stylish I'm afraid.
The hotel is still ok if you can get a decent price (we will most probably return in the future) but the Brussels hotel market is changing rapidly lately so if there are other deals in other hotels, we might try those first...
