“Good location, reasonable price”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

The new management are reasonably efficient. Our room was clean and comfortable, and everything worked, apart from one light bulb. Good shower, even though it came from the bath taps. Also the location is good - very close to a tram stop on Avenue Louisa, so you can be in Le Grand Place in 20 minutes or so. The rooms could do with a bit of TLC: various fittings were hanging out of the wall, including the security chain on the very stiff sliding window onto the slightly dodgy patio, where the boards tend to pop up when you step on one end. However, the only real problem is that you can't rely on reception being manned during the hours promised - which anyway are only 9.00-19.00. They may decide to leave early, in which case you could find you can't gain access to your room till the next day! So make sure you're very clear about when you plan to arrive, and allow yourself some leeway.

Room Tip: A garden flat is slightly more expensive but quieter.

The hotel has had it's problems over the past year and was forced into bankruptcy. Its now running again and is a really good place to stay.

The rooms are large, mine was 45 meters with kitchen, large windows onto gardens and a good lounge area. For long term stays the place is perfect.

At a price of 85 euro a night this is unbeatable value in the Louise area.

The staff are lovely. Everyone worked hard to make my stay a good one.

I will come back. This place is quiet and relaxed

We had a little problem with the window (did't close very well) and because of that it was kind of cold in the room. The beds were OK but th sofa was not that great. Besides that, everything was OK. The location is very good (8-10 minutes to closest metro station, and about 25-30 minutes from city center by walking). The appartment was clean and at a good price. It is OK if you want to stay a couple of nights in Brusseles.

Due to the bankruptcy of the company managing the apart hotel I had to leave the flat with 12 hours notice. I paid for two week and I lost one week of rent. The dishonest staff accepted the payment when the hotel was about to close... Apparently they are still trying to rent out some of the flats. Be careful

The hotel was clean, convenient and well priced. I have no criticisms whatsoever about our stay. On the evening before our departure, all guests received a note saying the hotel was in receivership and would be closed down the following day (14/6/2012). Fortunately it didn't affect us as we were leaving. Other guests were not so fortunate. I would recommend you check directly with hotel before making any reservations. It may be under new management or not.

The apartment block is easily accessible, tram 94 stops in Avenue Louise and it is a few minutes walk away. More trams and buses at the Bailli stop which is another few minutes up avenue Louise.
The reception is not open 24 hours, staff are pleasant.
The apartment I stayed in was quite large compared to others, the kitchen corner was fairly new, all appliances present.
The bed was clean and comfortable.
No bedside stand/table though, which one always needs for put down glasses/phone/book/whatever.
The bathroom was very tired, in need of refurbishment.
Internet connection was included in the price and at a decent speed.
A nice touch I thought was to have some books in the apartment; there was also a sign saying that you could rent DVDs if you wanted to.
The area is very nice (Art Deco buildings) and feels quite safe.
For breakfast you could go to a nice corner cafè near the Bailli stop, which has Illy Italian coffee.

Reviewed 21 April 2012

I stayed in New Continental Business Flats for two nights recently as part of a business trip to Brussels.

The apartments were fairly easy to find from Midi station but the walk was mostly uphill and took about half an hour so if you're less fit it's worth getting a cab. The area was very pleasant with lots of shops on the nearby Avenue Louise. There was also a minimarket a few steps away which was handy for picking up the basics as nothing was in the flat when I arrived.

The apartment itself was fine for what I needed. It was surprisingly big and faced out into quite a pleasant garden area and there was even a little terrace (though still too cold to use it in april). It did feel a little shabby but for 90 euros a night somewhere like Brussels that was to be expected. Bed and sheets nice and clean though. I could see why there might be complaints about noise - it wasn't very well soundproofed and in the early evening I could hear every word the family next door were saying - but it was very very quiet at night and I had no difficulty sleeping.

As for the staff, I found them pleasant and helpful with good English. I witnessed them dealing with a customer who had a problem with his booking not going through and thought they were very professional and worked hard to resolve his problem even though the problem had been caused at the customer's side.

Also as a lone female traveller I felt quite safe here, both in the apartment and walking around in the local area. I have had bad experiences in Brussels in the past and was very grateful for this. The apartments seem to be used a lot by female travellers and families so felt quite comfortable.

The free internet was pretty good too, not quite good enough to video skype or facetime (got very stuttery very fast) but definitely worked well for basic email etc. However it is easy for people to telephone direct to your room and it seemed that their costs for phoning out weren't too bad either (though I didn't do this so can't say for sure).

The only slight downside is that being an apartment block there aren't many amenities - reception closes at 9pm, no gym or bar etc, but that's pretty clear when you're booking and I guess you can't expect frills in this price range.

However I would recommend these apartments if you are in Brussels and on a budget. They are certainly the best accommodation I've stayed in here anyway and I would definitely book again.
