“Comfortable, clean and well located”
Reviewed 15 February 2013

We booked into this and stayed for a week. We needed to be within walking distance of the European district, and a place where we could prepare our own meals and space for our little toddler to play.

We found this place with booking.com which offered a good price for a non-refundable booking.

We like the layout of the apartment, and it is clean. There are some parts that needs maintenance - eg wall panel in the kitchen, and maybe a little more cleaning at the difficult to reach parts in the bath. Otherwise, the apartment is clean. Someone comes to clean the kitchen stove (plate) once a week. And you get to use the washing machine and dryer free of charge which is a pleasant surprise as we usually have to pay extra for these.

There is a gym downstairs though we did not use it. There is also a pool but unfortunately there is a fee of 25 Euros a week, or 50 euros a month, which was disappointing as this would have been the thing to do with my toddler.

The European Parliament and the metro is all within walking distance. Leopald Park is about 10 minutes walk away, there is a square with some restaurants, a shop n go, about 7 minutes walk away. If you want slightly cheaper shopping go to Leopald Park area, there is another grocery though slightly further away. Bon Tout pattiserie, is where you can have your breakfast. You can get a voucher from the hotel and take a 5-7 minute walk to the square. It serves lovely food for 12 euros.

I will stay here again.

In short travels I value a lot the ability to have a good night sleep. My apartment was perfect for that. Late afternoon was noisy due to a gym next door, but after dinner was pretty quiet. Large apartment, allowing for informal meetings if necessary. Very close to European Parliament, 15 min to European Commission buildings. Being a residence, failing to bring small things can be an issue, like a plug adapter to charge a laptop.

Room Tip: Ask for one not next door to the fitness club.

My partner and I have just returned from a weekend break in Brussels. My partner was their on business and I joined her a few days in, we stayed here because of its location for my partners work, it is in the middle of the EU district and not very touristy. A nice 30mins walk away from all the tourist stuff. This is the first time I have stayed in an apartment and must say I was impressed. Comfortable, 5 rooms and quite. We stayed in building 10 room 311 on the ground floor (I think).

Although the location is good and the rate decent, I was not impressed with this hotel. Firstly, the check-in was slow and receptionist not very welcoming. The apartment was OK, but not very clean. At the 5th floor the water pressure hardly made a shower worth while. My colleagues in another appartment complained about noise from traffic.

Room Tip: Avoid front facing rooms due to traffic

This wasn't particularly cheap, but its fantastic proximity to Parliament (2 minute stroll) and the Commission complex at Schumann (15 minute stroll) makes it ideal. They offer really well-appointed apartments from just one night - ideal if you don't want to fit in around a hotel's breakfast timetabling or want the flexibility of meeting space, eat-in or families. 260 euros got a 2 double-bed apartment with 2 toilets, balcony, TV, WiFi, full kitchen, lounge/diner, desk plus ironing kit etc. Critically, it's also got secure underground parking (included in the above price or available for 20 euros/night) which means that you're not bound to the Eurostar, metro and taxis. Staff were the usual slightly spiky/irascible Continentals, but efficient and accommodating enough.

Room Tip: Front of the building had a roomy balcony and felt like the heart of the city, rather than some poky...

The Thon apartment complex is just up the road from the EU Parliament and the Gare Bruxelles-Luxembourg train station. There are several bus routes stopping at Place de Luxembourg and the closest Metro stop is Trone at 10 minutes walk.
For breakfast you can walk to Tout Bon in Place de Luxembourg. The square is also full of bars with tables on the pavement.
By the Trone Metro stop there is a Carrefour Express supermarket which is handy if you want to eat in.
When I got to the apartment I noticed a TV cable was missing, so I phoned reception and a member of staff came in 5 minutes to sort it out, so very good service there.
Internet Access is not included in the rate, but they do deals if you stay for 3 days or longer. There is a gym but didn't use it.
The one bedroom apartment I stayed in was quite large and quite clean. Decor is "classic English" so might not be to everyone's taste. Only thing, as a previous reviewer had pointed out, the light bulbs are quite weak so to bring a book light would be good advice.
Kitchen was well equipped, bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable.

Good aparthotel for those who would like to stay long time in Brussels.Good location.Private parking.Hotel have several buildings. Some rooms are very nice decorated in clasical way, some modern. There are cracks on the walls in some appartments. So,if the hotel staff will try to convince you to stay here and that they dont have other flats-dont believe and change.Appartments in buiding 10 which inside yard very offenly dont catch mobile network especially for Base. Big plus of this hotel that you can use World Class gym for free :-)
The biggest minus is reception staff, that lie very frequently. I asked specific building and woman on reception lied that the buiding will start renovation in 2 days and they dont put anyone there.Next day ive seen group of tourist going to check in to there. She lie about fully booked hotel and high rate. But you can easily made booking on internet and cheaper. The biggest disadvantage was the time of my 3th checked out. She asked me to pay my room cleaning becouse i was stay 7days!(before i did stay twice for 10days-and noone asked anything!)She showed to me this note in booking.com that i must to pay that they will clean after me.What a nonsence!!!IIn any hotel they must to clean after customer! Why do i need to pay for this?!!! And there is not such info on hotel personal website! So,i went out without paying! Thinking logically i can made 2 reservation for 6 days and 1 day for example. In this case i willnot need to pay for cleaning after me,cose i stay 6 days, after checking out and check in again for 1 more day.And my room must be clean between bookings :-)))))))
