“One of Europe's great little hotels”

This place can be summed up in two words :eccentrically charming. Run by a couple who inherited it from his mother, it contains a series of very different rooms, some large, some small, one a penthouse suite, but each uniquely decorated, either with original art or with completed jigsaw puxzzles of Old Masters. Breakfast is cold but nonetheless great,(excellent bread), and is included in the very reasonable prices. I must have stayed dozens of times over the years : it is unfailingly clean, charming and fun.

Room Tip: The best room is the penthouse, which gives you a bedroom, a bathroom with a bath, and a comfortable...

The hosts are as kind as can be, we stayed 5 nights. The en suite room was large and spacious, old blaupunkt radio oozed with charm, very family atmosphere and good breakfast. Will come back for sure!

Quirky B&B style hotel that is just fun to visit and great value for central Brussels. It's a short walk from Louise - which is 3 stops on the Metro from the Eurostar terminal - and round the corner from the fashion shopping district. Walk the other way and you are soon into local restaurants and bars.
Rooms vary in size but mine (7) was a spacious double with basic en-suite shower and loo; fine for a weekend or a couple of nights. Family owners are friendly and helpful - the cat has tendency to follow you upstairs ...
Downsides? Yes, the plumbing suits the building so we're not talking power-showers and breakfast is from 8am which can be a bit tight if you're on business - though they will start a few minutes early if you ask nicely.

This hotel is a long standing favourite of mine in Brussels with something of the charm of a bygone age. It is is in a quiet area of town not far from the Avenue Louise and the metro station of the same name. It is more of a B&B and the rooms vary in size - some have a shower, and some a toilet and some both - your choice. The rooms are always spotlessly clean.
The breakfasts are traditional French style always immaculately presented. The two resident cats are always willing to greet the guests and the owner always polite, friendly and helpful. Hard to imagine you can get better value in Brussels.

I have been using this 12 room family-run B &B in Brussels for many years. It is quirky : most pictures on the walls are made from jigsaw pieces, one room has an old radiogram (seriously!) as part of the furniture, copies of elderly National Geographic magazine are liberally sprinkled around most rooms. These vary in size and facilities - and therefore price - enormously. Best in the place is 15 which provides a suite including a large bathtub for 86 euros a night, but smaller rooms are half that price including an excellent breakfast with some of the best croissants in Belgium. The place is always spotlessly clean - and on the whole pretty welcoming. But be warned, always let them know when you are arriving, and try to make it before 9.30 p.m, they seem to retire to bed after that! Shut throughout August. And uniquely in my experience in Brussels, the price per room does not drop at weekends. So Monday to Friday nights are better value.

Room Tip: If you can afford above 55 euros a night, ask for a superior room: they are far more spacey. And sui...

Located 5 minutes away from Tram Stéphanie and Subway Luiza, it is very handy to get into town. Clean and quiet. The top rooms (4th flooor) are quiet and cosy. Rooms are a bit small so it's perfect for single or for lover's :-) Service is friendly and helpful. It's more a B&B than a hotel... Will definitely come back !

I stayed at Hotel Rembrandt for just one night during my stay in Brussels, but I wish I'd stayed longer. Upon arriving, the owner greeted me and checked me in, and spoke English very well (which was a relief, as I speak only the most basic French and absolutely no Dutch).

The hotel was located about 5 minutes from a Metro station, as well as shopping and commerce.

In the morning, I enjoyed a complimentary breakfast, and after saying goodbye to the lobby cat (a lovely and friendly calico) I was on my way to the airport (about an hour away by Metro+train)

As a solo traveler, I kept costs at a minimum by staying in the loft room (on the highest floor) which had a shower in-room, but the toilet was in the hallway. Everything was totally clean, and I felt very safe and secure (which is important for a 20-something female traveling alone).

Because I slept with the window open, there was a bit of street noise that woke me once during the night (a group of loud partiers). But the bed was very comfortable, and that one disturbance wouldn't stop me from staying there again many times in the future!

Room Tip: Note: The lift does not go to the top floor, so I did have to climb 1 flight of stairs with my lugga...
