“Different from the norm”

Having tired of hotel chains I thought I would give this place a go .....

The location is excellent and walking distance of a number of restaurants and bars.
The room was a decent size, although had rather a peculiar smell, not a really bad smell, I think it just came from the fact that the carpets are quite deep pile and could probably do with a good steam clean.

The breakfast was very nice, it made a change from having to chose from platters of congealed over cooked eggs and bacon that have been sitting there in their own grease for a while. Instead you could choose from fresh breads and croissants, cheese, hams and a variety of jams.

Only issue I did have was that the internet went down one night and was still not up and running the following morning, this created a few problems as I was on a business trip - I see from the hotel's response to another post that this was due to a problem in the street rather than the hotel itself, however it would have been nice if this information could have been shared as this is the first that I have heard of it.

Overall a good stay.

We spent one night in the 'Airstream' room, a unique glamping experience that is definitely worth while!

Although it is a bit weird to spend the night in a caravan, just a few steps away of the Avenue Louise in the city centre of Brussels, it was a unique experience!

Friendly staff, great breakfast.

Keep in mind that it still is a caravan, which makes it maybe less suitable for the taller people amongst us.

We really liked the design of the hotel and the funky atmosphere. The room was clean and the people working were really friendly. We had a small issue with the wifi but i am not sure that is linked to the hotel, maybe check it out. Location was really good as well! The street next to our room was really quite, we were positively surprised on how quite it was.

The idea of living around cool furniture does no pay for minor rooms at the atic (40,41 and 42
) with minimal space for one person - much less two.
Also the idea that if you stay until 1pm in your room and ask for it to be cleaned just to find out that there is no room cleaning after 1pm...it does no help for a relaxed stay.
The location is perfect for a weekend or business stay in Brussels, full of small ethnic restaurants around but also some big franchise names. Shopping is easy and access to the Sablon very convenient. So 5/5 for location and quietness. Then comes the WiFi/Internet access issue...it went down at midnight not to be found in the morning when cheking out...ah, right, not even credit card payment possible...but thery were nice to send me the invoice later by e-mail. Staff is friendly and breakfast selection average to good. Coming back? Too many ifs...

Room Tip: never, ever accept rooms 40-42 (btw there is only stair access to the 4th level...)

Dear Customer
if we value feed-back a lot, we could not leave yours unanswered.
Why ? Because the issue you raise about the cleaning time of your room is not fair as you had put the "red card" sign on your door until 4pm and we respect the privacy of our guests. After two demands of our cleaning staff to clean your room, we could not keep our staff later just to clean your room.
Secondly because we encountered an exeptionnal problem with the internet line, not locally but in the street, impacting also our payment terminal. It lasted less than1 hour ...
We through it was important to rectify this for people reading this particular comment.

We sincerely hope to welcome you again at the Vintage. Hotel.

Regards

Bernard

We had a good time there (and everytime we stayed). The rooms are clean and well decorated, the service is really good with people giving you advice on where to go. Thanks to them we had the best fries ever!

No fan of hotel chains, look no further... Vintage Hotel even gives you some sentiment of the (recent) past.
In the hart of the city, in a quiet street, ideal for exploring Brussels.
Nice wine bar, excellent breakfast.

The hotel offered all the comforts we needed for our stay in Bruxelles, and they were all delivered in a special and unique way, with that "vintage" touch which is the hotel signature.
The location is convenient for both walking around the city (all the major spots are within reasonable walking distance) and taking public transportation - the closest metro station is on the same line as Gare du Midi, from where the shuttle bus to/from the airport and the trains to Bruges/Gant depart.
By mistake we booked a double room with queen bed, even if we actually wanted twin beds: the guys at the reception immediately found a solution and we were changed room the day after. We were given a room on the top floor, very cozy: what I liked the most were some touches - the fluffy pillows, the posters on the walls, the 60's telephone - which are not normally found in a hotel room.
The breakfast was vary with a good buffet.
