“Good stay”
Reviewed 30 August 2012 via mobile

Got a cracker deal for one night's stay. Free wifi in rooms would be expected. Great location, close to train station and convenient to historical centre. Also close to bike stations which are handy for getting around the city. Nothing in particular to rave about but suited us fine.

Located within minutes from Louise and shops. Front desk staff are cordial and accommodating. Photos on the hotel's website were not reflective of my room. My room had shanty furniture (additionally, some was broken/chipped). Exceptionally poor lighting, worn out everything, and dirty, worn-out, smelly carpets. Rooms are serviced once a week. Between services, a full week of no garbage pick-up, towel change or anything - no one enters your room. Safe deposit box was not available despite several requests. No air conditioning in rooms.

Parking is worth of a separate note. To park in the garage, one needs to take a narrow ramp down (about 20 to 25 degree grade) and make a 90 degree turn at the bottom. The turn is very tight, scrapings of paints on both sides of the turn. I had a MB B-Klasse, and still had to turn very, very carefully. Full size cars should net venture in.

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel

This hotel's main advantage is its location close to the shops, bars and Parliament. Other than that there is relatively little to recommend it. Although the rooms are well-sized and have a small kitchen area, the whole feeling is one of a rundown establishment which needs a refurbishment.
The corridors outside the bedrooms are very poorly lit and make one feel uncomfortable coming back at night. It would be a good hotel to stay with a family in, and on a tight budget, but on business it felt a strange place. The staff at reception were not particularly friendly nor did they offer any help about Brussels. It's cheap but for a reason.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front were quite noisy

We booked this place with the Eurostar, and got a great price - being a short walk away from the main Eurostar terminal in Brussels, I would recommend it over flying. It works out quicker when you factor in the security checks, 2 hour check in etc, plus the cost of getting from the airport.

The hotel looks uninspiring, and the staff are functional rather than amiable, but the location is perfect. You are seconds away from a Metro station with access to everything in Brussels you are likely to want to see or do, and there are numerous restaurants and bars almost next door, which open late and serve everything from Japanese sushi to Italian pasta,

If the Metro isn't your thing, we walked to Grand Place (the central square) in less than 15 minutes, and the as the hotel is in an upmarket and fashionable area, you always feel safe even at night.

I agree with other reviewers who discuss the dated rooms, these could do with a refurbishment but offer a comfortable bed, a clean and spacious bathroom and a decent kitchen with a fridge and microwave to prepare basic meals.

Overall, and considering the value, I would highly recommend this hotel for it's superb location and comfortable rooms, it's just a shame the staff don't crack a smile occasionally!

Spent 2 nights here on a short break to Belgium. Convient location, about a 20 minute walk from the main train station Brussels Midi. (Can be bit of a trek as its all up hill - with luggage and kids) We stayed in a room facing the main road which can be pretty noisy. The apartment was sufficient but a bit tired. Kitchen was well equipped. Very spacious. Metro is nearby, though we didnt use it at all. Did a lot of walking. Grand Place is only about another 15-20 min away.

Room Tip: rooms at the back or the sides may be less noisier

this hotel has a relatively smart lobby with free coffee machine and 2 computers for internet usage. Staff are efficient but not particularly friendly but security on doors is good as you have to use your room key to access the front door. The rooms however are tired and dated with very bland and run down decor. Our room was clean, the TV up to date and the internet connection worked well but the carpet, curtains, towels and some of the furniture had definitely seen better days. It is in a very good location for other transport options but coming from the Station Midi/Zuid the surroundings are very dirty - the UGC cinema close by is the filthiest cinema complex we have ever visited but it is convenient as are the shops and all the sights of Brussels. A good budget option but no luxury to be found here! We did not have breakfast due to the large number of better value options from right next door onwards.

Just spent 3 nights here during a week-end break to Brussels, ideally placed for good public transport links. We had room 217 which is overlooking the side street, the room itself was obviously newly refurbished, immaculately clean including the kitchenette and everything in it. The room has a door opening onto a Juliet balcony which made the room light and airy, there was some street noise with the door open but it wasn't too bad. Not sure what kind of noise you would experience in a room at the front or at the back. There is a well stocked supermarket on the doorstep and a good selection of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Would be happy to stay here again.
