We spent 2 nights at Coralina Isla Boutique earlier this month and I'm still wishing we had stayed longer! Do yourself a favor- skip the day trip excursions offered to Rosario Islands & stay a few nights. It's worth it! Pierre and all of the staff on the island are truly amazing. From the moment we arrived they went out of their way to make us feel at home. The hotel only has 3 rooms so you feel like your on your own private island. The rooms are no frills- but very clean, comfortable and the AC works at night. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well kept. Agree with the other reviewers- upgrade to the private boat back if you can afford it. Counting down the days we can return and lounge in the sun and stare at the beautiful water....

This is idyllic barefoot luxury. Few equals.

take the private boat! it's not worth quibbling over £40 for the sake of a crowded 40 person boat that takes 4-5 hours and stops everywhere, vs 1 hour direct.

very private island with plenty of spots to lounge on sun beds, rattan chairs, hammocks, in the open sun, on the decking, on the sand, in the shade...plenty of options!

no day trippers; owner very particular about it remaining exclusive (only 3 rooms);

plenty of coral sea with lots of fish!

accommodation basic but clean, elegant and frankly all you need; with a/c and fan;

Options for day activities inc. fishing, taking a boat out independently or with a guide, snorkelling;
- the fishing option is spectacular; simple line fishing leaving early in the morning and will take you to some beautiful spots - notably Isla de Rosario, the last island in the chain, which has some of the most beautiful untouched white sand beaches in the world as it is an ecological reserve and no one's allowed to stay/visit...but you can have it for yourself for 10 minutes if you're quick! A thousand times better than the Playa Blanca or the beaches in the Parque de Tayrona, but you can only go there if you're staying on the islands. Cost is P80,000 for the boat a day, P40,000 for the local fisherman/guide and P12,000 per gallon of petrol (you'll use 3-5).

all inclusive with optional extras (note, nothing like an all inclusive resort!); most alcohol is extra);

lovely staff, family feel, Pierre (the owner) is a very passionate host;

excellent simple traditional cooking (3 meals a day - you'll be a whale by the time you leave!);

nothing is too much trouble (within reason - you're on a coral island that has to import everything bar the fish!);

bring books and board games (ideally on an iPad!); boules would be a great addition!

no wifi - perfect to escape, but if you need to stay in touch...here's your excuse...

We'll be back...when there's a direct London-Cartagena flight!

What a wonderful 5 days we spent at Coralina Isla Boutique hotel! Our hosts, Raquel, Pierre and Flo were simply lovely and couldn't do enough to make us feel Welcome. The island very much felt our own (there are only three roms, so about 6 guests is the maximum at any one time) and the team who looked after us went out of their way to make sure we had everythig we needed.

An absolute must is a visit to the Aquarium (about 10 minute boat ride away) and watching the sun set from the deck.

Snorkelling and swimming along with reading and sleeping made the 5 days fly past.

The food was delicious and so fresh it travels literally 5 meters from source (great lobster).

The room was simple and un-pretentious with excellent aircon (a must).

Definitely somewhere to get away from it all, thank you for a very memorable stay.

Room Tip: One tip, the boat does a round trip each day, which means on your return you have a stopover at the...

This small, chic boutique hotel was just what the doctor ordered. The location and views are amazing and the place is so cute. Very simple, chic, stylish decor. It is really like you are staying at a friend's house rather than at a hotel. There are only 3 rooms and an eco-hab. The owners, Pierre and Raquel are so sweet and treat you like a member of the family. We were also lucky to have Pierre's daughter, Florina there, so it really had a family feel. The food is really, really good! Absolutely delicious. The only bummer in food department was bread/toast for breakfast and dessert for dinner. You can snorkel right in front of hotel and they also have a boat to take you to really good snorkeling spot 10 min away. The grounds are beautiful, but with all the native plants left in tact. There are many places to relax and read, nap or sunbathe.

My only suggestions (not complaints): The most important being better dessert for dinner. The food was absolutely to die for. Breakfast, lunch and dinner delicious. They just need better bread or toast for breakfast and some good home made desserts for dinner. And it would be nice if the staff offered coffee and dessert after dinner, instead we had to ask. But, again, not a deal breaker. Also, the place is rustic-chic as far as I am concerned, which I love and prefer to a big shiny resort. But, if you are looking for a four season's, this is not it. They are doing their best to be kind to environment so, showers are week and no hot water (not that you really need it there) and they shut off the electricity in the middle of day to conserve. Which I think is great. As mentioned in a few other reviews some bugs get in the room, but nothing super scary or bothersome to me at all. I have experienced much worse and I had all the windows open at night with light on. I would have way more insects in Los Angeles if I did that.

Also would be great to have some sun umbrellas over the chairs on the docks for those guests who don't want to sit in direct sun all day.

They also now have wi-fi!

I really enjoyed my stay here and would for sure go back. I feel like I made the right decision as far as hotel options in the Rosario Islands.

Room Tip: The room we were in was right next to the kitchen area. I think it was room #3. So if you are ligh...

What a wonderful, exotic stay at an amazing island. We stayed 3 nights at Coralina Isla Botique and we were really impressed. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Pierre and his wife Raquelle, and were offered a welcome drink. During our whole stay they have really taken care of us and made us feel at home. The owners live at the island and they really want you to feel like it is your island as well. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and we didn't find any need for using the air-conditioning at night as there was a nice breeze entering the room. The service is really good, and as all the meals are included in the price it is so nice not to have to spend time looking for a place to eat. You have to try the lobster that is coming fresh and straight from the ocean! There is plenty of space for enjoying the sun, or taking a nap in the shade in a hammock. We really recommend this place for future visitors. If you want a stay at almost your private island, with the nicest hosts ever, and a beautiful scenery this is the place for you.

Coralina is a great place to visit. We went sailing and snorkelling, ate freshly caught lobster and totally chilled out, watching the sunset sipping on cocktails.

Pierre is an awesome host, with only 3 rooms the max amount of guests are 6 so you feel very secluded on the island.

The food they prepare for you is delicious and takes the hassle out of thinking.

Being in Coralina Isla Boutique was an unforgettable experience. Only 3 rooms (we were the only guests) and an amazing service...we felt like we were in our personal island. Great food, great location, silence, sun, fishes...everything you could ask for.

Pierre and his team were very helpful and we got everything we need. The hotel has a great potential to become a premium boutique hotel with a few adjustments.

Congrats for the hotel, a true hidden gem!
