Small van behind tourist information in Craster, simple but tasty food with own speciality such as Auchtermurchty (haggis and bacon), friendly service, kipper buns particularly recommended as very tasty!

The best bacon and egg sandwich I have have ever had. Unbelievably tasty. The owner is extremely friendly and you can tell he takes pride in his work. Not sure why he does not have his 2014 sticker yet but we were very happy to try his food and information he had had a spot in our city back in Canada, we would be regulars.

The proprietor is a friendly Scot who entertained us with interesting conversation while preparing our lovely Auchtermuchty rolls (double-wrapped to keep warm for lunch a couple of hours later). He does a mean Craster kipper sandwich too - I saw him collecting them from the smokery, the same day!

We visited Piper's Pitch while on holiday in Northumberland because of the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and the reviewers were not wrong. We all had something different - kipper in a bun, sausage and bacon, sausage, egg and bacon and bacon and egg - and all were delicious. The sausage patties meant that you had the best of everything in every mouthful. The kippers came from the local smokehouse in Craster and melted in the mouth. Even the coffee and tea were good. In fact, we had such an enjoyable breakfast we went back three days later and had almost the same again except I decided that I had to try the haggis with sausage - the 'Auchterarder' as Andy, the chef decided to call it. This was sublime - succulent and the perfect balance of flavours. Andy himself is so welcoming and really interesting to chat to. The whole family give five stars but we would give it more if we could. We will definitely be back when we are next in the area.

In an area not known for good eating places Piper's Pitch stands head and shoulders above the rest. If ever there was an example of niche marketing this is it.

Mine host - the piper - produces well cooked basic meals in a convenient setting next to the information office and car park. Have no doubts about it - it is an experience to be savoured.
