We knew nothing about Sepulveda before we arrived on our cycling trip. It's a fantastic hill town, popular with people from Madrid but, when we were there, few tourists from outside of Spain. The Posada de San Millan is a few hundred metres walk from the centre of the old town and, when you enter the ancient wooden doors through the massive stone archway into the cobbled courtyard it's like being transported back 300 years.
The rooms are ancient but are are well furnished and appointed. The whole place is dark with low ceilings and thick stone walls so if you prefer light, glassy rooms it won't be for you but if you want genuine, historic accommodation with atmosphere you'll love it.
There's a smallish garden to sit in. Breakfast was good. Pili who runs the place is charming and helpful.
