Only had the one course as wanted to do some 'browsing' in the local shops. But found service good and food very tasty, and something a little different to the usual menus, something for everyone but mainly fish. We will certainly be going back. The starters and desserts looked good as did the brunch that the man sitting next to us was just finishing off.

Our daughter bought us vouchers for this restaurant as a pressie. The last time we visited it had been called The Bank. Bit of a makeover but looking good. Friday lunch qwas quite busy, young staff really friendly and helpful. Food ordered wine being sipped, and then the smoke started rollling down the corridor followed by a red flashing light and the fire alarm being activated. Our daughter text to see if we were enjoying our lunch, when we told her what was occuring, she asked if Manuel was in the kitchne. The staff were fab, opened windows, explained the ovens had overheated and it was somehow very amusing, but the way they dealt with it was very slick. Impressed, running out with a fire extinguisher never crossed our minds. Lovely lunch menu, with something for everyone, the food was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. My partner had the game terrine for starters and I had a seafood crocquette, with a lemon and dill sauce. V good. Mains were duck and seabass, equally as good. The chef came out to apologise and our first drinks were complimentary, which was very generous. Would definitely return. A special occasion place, good food, great staff and absolutely no need to panic because the smoke had left the building.

We booked the private "vault" for a birthday dinner for 12 and had a truly memorable and good value dining experience in warm and friendly surroundings.

We opted for the midweek Chef's Selection and were not disappointed by the limited choice of 3 starters, mains and desserts at around £20/head.

The portions were adequate, tasty and beautifully presented and we enjoyed great service since the restaurant was not too crowded being a Thursday.

Matthew the owner should be proud of his team who looked after us and for the quality of the surroundings and fayre on offer.

Highly recommended!

I took my husband to the Sandbank for his birthday in feb. Had been meaning to try it as it had been recommended to me. We had the tasting menu which was impressive. It is definitely posh nosh! We both really enjoyed all of the courses. The service was professional and accommodating. I wanted to swap the dessert for a different one which was on the main menu and it was not a problem. It's a place that I would go for a special occasion rather than a random meal out.

Ate there with 3 colleagues in early May on a Thursday evening. Only 2 other couples dining so not the greatest of atmospheres. An extensive menu covering most of the bases. Whilst tasty I found the food a little too much nouveau cuisine with large plates & not a lot of food. My starter of salmon roulade was tasty but tiny & the main course of liver had very little meat. Even the cheese board, the board of wich was very large, had only two or three tiny pieces of cheese on it. Not what I'd expect of a restaurant that advertises 'Fine Dining' & certainly not good value for money at circa £40 - £50 per head.

On a positive note, the two lads who operated the front of house were very good.
