Visited again with friends for dinner. Good food, well presented but rather on the expensive side we thought. The starters are all around the £8 mark and more for scallops or fish cocktail, we had two portions of garlic ciabatta with mozzarella between us mainly because we had had a late lunch. For mains, our two men had the lamb shank pie with creamed potatoes, it was a meat feast but did it really need the extra lamb cutlet that came with it? I had roasted cod, perfectly cooked with chunky chips and not a lot of pea purée and my friend had the enormous Bellhouse Burger. We had one drink each, wine, cider and half a lager. The bill came to £97. Our waiter Sam was polite and helpful and the room had an amiable atmosphere. Our only real criticism was that we were so hot, it was an unseasonably warm evening and the room could have done with some air. We will return here but probably during a weekday when the midweek set menu is in place.
