“Beautiful building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2013

Leigh library is the most beautiful old building, inside and out. The gardens are lovely to, and there is a small park in the grounds. We often take the children to the library first, where the staff are always so nice and helpful. Then we go for a picnic in the gardens where the children can run around and play safely.

“Save Leigh Library!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2013

Leigh-on-Sea has a real treasure and it is that of the public library in an historic building right in the middle of town. It has extensive gardens that are great for families to enjoy or to read a book when the sun is out.

Leigh Library is run by qualified professionals and some volunteers who really help with advice or finding what you need.

It would be a shame to see this building converted to something different. Libraries were designed as a level playing field so that rich and poor could educate themselves through reading. It is a place of inspiration and it should not be closed or moved.

It is one of the places that makes Leigh on Sea so special.
