Took my M I L to this pub as she lives locally and wanted a traditional steak and kidney pie, and by chance this was the pie of the week!
Place was not busy it was a wet Thursday evening, but the service was a little slow but the food was on the whole very good with both mine and the wife's being excellent but the MIL complained the steak in her pie was tough! but the gravy etc was good.
Deserts very all delicious though and provided the most entertainment as the waitress "had a blonde moment' - as this is a pub the tables are not always laid up with cutlery, and serving the deserts to a bare table she asked would we like a spoon with that ! Following my wife's comment about not wanting to eat with our fingers, she ruefully said 'I should think before opening my mouth!'
Seriously, this is a pub doing a reasonable line in food, but is mainly for drinking as the choice of beers is good and with sky sports the place is will be busy and sometimes noisy.
Prices are reasonable and choice is good but I would not describe it as a family restaurant
