“Wonderful stay!”

We went to Church Gate on a weekend break from London, to walk and relax. The B&B is very comfy, with incredibly friendly hosts, and lovely attention to detail (we even had chocolates on our bedside tables and homemade biscuits replenished every day!). We liked it so much we would like to go back :)

We stayed here for a weekend and had a lovely relaxed break. The room was very light and airy and well equipped. Breakfast was lovely - not a full English but lots of lovely homemade muesli, fruit, pancakes, porridge, bread, etc. The walk round from Itchenor to West Wittering is definitely worth doing too.

We recently stayed at Church Gate B&B with our three young children for two nights as we had a wedding locally. Our host and hostess could not do enough to make us feel welcomed. The breakfast was outstanding including freshly baked bread and scones and pancakes as well as the most tasty porridge with dried fruit, all adorned with delicious fresh fruit from the owner's own garden. My daughter is wheat-intolerant and the owner provided plenty of freshly made wheat-free food for her breakfast. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms extremely comfortable.

The garden cottage was our pristine home for 3 nights in late May. It's a lovely spot just ten strides from the main house where we enjoyed an unhurried breakfast each morning. Alistair & Janie were such kind & diligent hosts.

My sister and I spent one night at this lovely B&B in Itchenor as part of a trip down to Chichester & West Wittering. The whole location is beautiful and tranquil - from the pretty village and short walk to the water, to the amazing house and garden, to the cottage at the end of the garden where we stayed in white calming rooms.

The breakfast was perfect, homemade and nourishing - pancakes, porridge, fruit, croissants, home-made bread etc. Lots of lovely touches such as wonderful teas, homemade biscuits in the rooms, chocolates brought over at bedtime. Beds are incredible comfy, rooms warm and cosy yet modern. Loved the polish pottery everywhere.

Janie who runs the b&b was so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. I would really recommend this b&b to anyone - imagine it'd also be a lovely treat to rent the whole cottage out.

We stayed at Church Gate for two nights at the end of August. We had a room in the garden cottage which was absolutely lovely. The bedroom was beautifully decorated with a window overlooking the pretty cottage garden. Bathroom small (shower - no bath) but adequate. The bed was so comfortable and we had the best night's sleep ever!! The hostess was friendly and helpful. Church Gate is a short walk to the quayside where there are some picturesque walks around the estuary. There is also a nice pub close to the water. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food . Great restaurant in East Wittering called the Samphire where the food is excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast in the main house at Church Gate was good but no 'cooked' breakfast seemed to be on offer which was a little disappointing. Rarely eat it at home but love to tuck in whilst away. Overall a pleasant stay!

We had the whole house - two beautiful rooms both with ensuite bathrooms upstairs and a huge open-plan kitchen/dining / sitting room downstairs. Faultless decor and very friendly owners. Janie went out of her way to look after us all week and we will definitely go back. She really took care of us and our children were made extremely welcome. A gem of a B & B!
