There were 5 of us and a little one, even though it was a small place they fitted us in including a highchair. Kindly brought out a stack for the little one while then starters arrived, went for the stuffed squid, fish and the beef stafardo. The food was amazing, the squid was perfect not tough at all, the beef was melt in the mouth and full of flavour. The fish was amazingly juicy, perfectly cooked. Definately recommend a visit, I would make sure you turn up early so you don't miss out on a table

Visited this taverna a couple of nights ago.
Situated on the main road, and we were lucky enough to get the last free table. We wanted to try his Taramasalata but unfortunately he hadn’t any, so he recommended feta saganaki, which was very nice. We would normally have a starter each, but we knew we were going to be ordering fish for our mains so 1 was adequate. Our main courses were sea bream & his “famous octopus” ......wow - it was delicious. We’ve had octopus many times in Greece, but never like this. It was so tender & tasted amazing. The sea bream was delicious too & both were served with salad & “home cooked” fries. We also had our usual 1 litre of house wine & large still water & bread. Mixed fresh fruits were given from the house at the end of the meal & very nice too. It has been our most expensive meal, but worth every euro, as the service and standard was very good. If you go ( which I strongly recommend) you must have the octopus, it’s just amazing.

We went there for dinner last evening, 2 hungry couples with great expectations.
The place was full so we were advised to wait for a couple of minutes for a table to clear.
After 5 minutes we were seated and the owner came with the menus immediately.
The beers came with frozen drafts while we were discussing the food options.
After a small debate we followed his advice And went with 4 different dishes and 3 starters.

For starters we had baked feta cheese, eggplant salad and taramasalata - all served with grilled bread and all home made following the secret recipes; all were exquisite , the yummy noises we made were so constant and true that the couple next to us was giving us the food envy looks :))
And then the mains came - we chose the selection of the day as recommended by the owner.
Whole stuffed grilled calamari with chips, tzatziki and salad - the calamari was moist but a bit crunchy on the outside , stuffed with feta chese and some fresh veggies - very well cooked and delicious.
Saganaki shrimps - the saganaki sauce was very well seasoned - nobody touched the salt or pepper. The flavours were powerful and complementary to the sweetness of the fresh shrimps.
Musaka - the smoothest, creamy full of umami musaka ever tasted. The taste was unique and very well seasoned - it is a heavy dish and the portion can easily be shared.
Grilled octopus with salad, chips and tzatziki - the best octopus ever eaten by any of us - the owner claims he is known for this octopus on the iceland and we can understand why. The salad offered an amazing base for the wine marinated octopus cooked on the grill. Hands down the best, juicy, tender and excellent cooked octopus . We have decided to award him one octopus michellin (star) :)
All food was amazing, the service was very fast and nice, good advice and we received the desert on the house : greek yoghurt with 4 types of home made fruit conserves including olive sweet conserves.
There is only one bathroom but it is very clean and tidy.
We will definitely go there again , you should try it at least once if ever in Nidri.
Prices were average - not too expensive- even on the cheaper side xompared to sea side restaurant s

On the main Street in a very touristy area, Nidri. Owner friendly and accomodating, long wait for food service, though the restaurant was basically empty. Food was ok, not a favourite in Nidri.

People do yourself one favour when coming to the beautiful island of lefkada and go to Bardis Tavern. The food is the best we had on our whole trip and the beautiful family running the place are without doubt the most hospitable people you will meet while on your trip. It’s the perfect dinner option after a big day out on the water. We had for appetisers the Greek salad and the moussaka. Perfectly herbed salad gave us the right indicaton these people don’t mess around and we came to the right place. The moussaka was the best damn moussaka I’ve had ever PERIOD!!!! We then went onto mains which we ordered the flaming saganaki prawns & the grilled octopus. The portions were massive to the disbelief of the great prices. Perfectly cooked and presented you can’t ask for more. So do yourself a favour and put this right on top of your list when heading to the beautiful island of lefkada. Thankyou Bardis tavern for such an amazing sendoff to our honeymoon best regards Nick & Ruslana from Melbourne, Australia.
