“Fabulous holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2012

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Eva Beach, and we had a fabulous time. The hotel is situated right on the beach - you couldnt get any closer. It is basic, but it is clean, the beds are comfortable, the sheets and towels are changed as necessary, what more do you need.... Breakfast is mainly breads and pastries from the bakery at the end of the lane, with some ham, cheese and a little fruit, but plentiful. The welcome from the staff and owners is heart warming.
We will be recommending this hotel, and this island to our friends, and hope to return.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep in, I would suggest that you request a room away from the main entrance as vehi...

Stayed at the Eva beach hotel in the middle of August ,so the hotel was very busy with mostlly italian and Greek guests.Situated at the quieter end of Nidri. It is just a short walk to the busy harbour where there is a good choice of taverna's and restaurants.
The hotel is clean and so was our room which was cleaned daily ,however we had only one
change of towels and bed linen the whole week . Air conditioning had to be paid for as did the security box ..We had requested a sea view but was told the hotel was very busy and it was not possible for us to have one.
Breakfast was a good choice of pastries ,breads and pizza's ,meat and cheese were also available.
The garden area is small but leads on to the beach whch is pebbly. We found in order to get a sun bed ,my husband had to get up early and lay claim to a couple otherwise there was no chance of getting one after 9.00a.m.There is just not enough sunbeds for the hotel and the ones that we used were in a poor condition compared to the sunbeds offered by the other hotels .You could pay 6 euros for two to hire the sunbeds at the neighbouring hotels .
We did ask for an early morning call but this was unavailable.
There is a good choice of tavernas ,bars and restaurants and we had some lovely meals at the Barrrel ,and the Appollon where we enjoyed the greek hospitality .
Would we stay at this hotel again ? I think I would probably try a different hotel in Nidri.

We have just returned from our second visit to the Eva Beach Hotel and have just booked to return next year for three weeks. Effie and her family were once again most welcoming and it was a pleasure to stay there. Everywhere is kept spotless. The breakfasts are mainly pastries and bread rolls - typical continental but these are all fresh from the bakery each day but there is plenty, even enough for those people taking more than a fair share and wrapping for later! You could always order a cooked breakfast if you preferred.

Some of the sun loungers do have loose fittings (maybe because of they way some people treat them) but in no way are they broken. As to inedaquate number - there is a limited space on the beach outside the hotel and I am sure no-one wants to be elbow to elbow with anyone so any more would be too crowded. There are always the loungers next door either way to use which cost 6 Euros per day.

Everyone we have come across at the hotel is lovely, and will do anything to help out (not just if you spend money at the hotel either!). Maddie who runs the bar area in the afternoon and evenings is a revelation, speaking 5 different languages and is so kind hearted. We can't wait to return next year. Karen & Dave

We spent a week at the Eva Beach at the end of May. The location is great, right on the beach but that is about as good as it gets! We requested a sea view, but on arrival was told the hotel was full, so we had a side view, which was ok, v narrow balcony could just about get out on to it from the sliding doors. The rooms are clean, decor is old and needs updating. Our room was a little noisy at night as it was near the lift/stairs, the bed was hard and not very comfortable. The shower room was tiny, no bath which is usual in Greece, could not sit on the toilet and close the door or your knees would bang against the door! There was no tea/coffee making facilities, just a fridge. Breakfast is v boring no fruit, only cheap meat, cheese and bread from the bakery at the end of the lane. We found the staff helpful but not very friendly unless you spent money at the hotel bar. As per other reviews, not enough sun beds for the number of guests, some loungers are broken. There is no pool, but you can use Orion next door which looks lovely and modern, it has a pool bar and comfy loungers. The owners really need to cater more for their guests and update the facilities to a better standard. We will not use this hotel again, if we do go back to Nidri we would look to stay next door at the Orion. Do not let this put you off the beautiful island of Lefkas, which is well worth visiting. We cam recommend Trident boat hire at the end of the harbour, The Barrel restaurant with the lovely Fortes and his wife, George's, Panorama Restaurant, Flisvos restaurant, the chocolate shop, lovely hand made choccies and the pizzeria near the bakery at the end of the lane from Eva Beach. In fact, most of the restaurants are good except the italian at the end of the harbour. It is our second visit to Lefkas and there is always something different to discover, it is well worth getting a quad bike; scooter or car to visit the rest of the island, esp the beautiful Porto Katsiki beach or take the ferry from the harbour across to Maganissi, you can also visit Kefalonia and Ithaca.

Room Tip: Do not stay at the Eva Beach if you want friendliness, comfort and space go elsewhere!

Great location, nice friendly staff... but... extremely noisy, breakfast consisted of as much pastry as you could eat ( no fruit!!) & all but 1 of an inadequate number of sun loungers has some form of breakage. Not enough space to relax in Garden / beach area - so we had to go to neighboroughing hotels!!

Room Tip: get as close to the beach as possbile

we have just returned from eva beach for the second time and will be booking up again shortly The hotel is in a brilliant location right on the beach where you can watch the sunrise(which i stongley suggest you get up early at least once to see it) and eat your breakfast looking out to the sea, the rooms have everything you need air com ,tv hairdryer .
they are spotless. and hotel well maintained
The staff are wonderful and if you dont fancy the continental breakfast they will whip up a mean bacon and eggs for a small charge. look out for maddie who amongst other things works in the bar area she is great fun and helped make our holiday even more special......cant wait to return .......lana&paul mo &keith sept 2011

We stayed here for 3 weeks in July. Because it was my Husbands birthday during our stay we had requested an upper floor sea view room. When we were given the key, we checked but they said they were full and couldn't move us. However, the room that we were allocated was spacious and well equipped but before we could even open our cases the receptionist came up and said they had another room. This was number 26 which was situated at the side of the hotel but did have a view of the sea.

Breakfast is cheese, meats, jam etc with plenty of fresh bread rolls and two types of melon. The staff and/or owners of the hotel are both friendly and helpful, in particular Aspa who usually manned reception. Because the hotel does not charge for the sunbeds on its part of the beach, other people (especially the locals) would reserve them so you needed to get up really early to ensure you didn't have to go next door to Pine trees (6 Euros) or Orion (5 Euros). Look out for the fishing cat on the beach outside the hotel!! There are lots of fish in the sea and if you throw pieces of bread for them, a grey and white cat will appear and fish for them by the side of you - this never ceased to amaze everybody that saw him.

The hotel itself was spotless, rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day and linen changed every couple of days. The position of the hotel is excellent, a short stroll from the harbour where you can find all the tavernas. Starting from the North end of the harbour, a few of the best are Mistraili, Panorama, Il Sapore (fantastic Pizaas) and Mamma Mia. There are lots more but over the three weeks we went back to these again and again.

As far as prices are concerned, we never paid more than 45 Euros for an evening meal which included drinks beforehand, a couple of starters, main meals and a carafe of house red so I wouldn't call this expensive at all. It was around 7 Euros for a large beer and a gin and tonic at most of the bars on the front.

It is well worth taking a trip on the ferry to Meganisi, It is 1.90 Euros each way and you can either get off at Spilia or Vathy, have a leisurely lunch and get the afternoon ferry back or just stay on for the ride.

If you want to be a bit more independent, hire a boat. The best place is Trident Boat Hire, situated at the South of the resort (just past Mamma Mia) and have excellent boats. A 30hp boat will cost 50 Euros per day excluding fuel but you can explore the coastline and find a deserted bay perfect for snorkelling. Fuel is on the expensive side - back in July it was around 1.74 Euros per litre but well worth it.

This was our 6th year in Nidri staying in various places and this was the best hotel so far. We will definitely be back next year
