“Brilliant in every way”
Reviewed 10 August 2017 for a stay in May 2017

This was our fifth visit to this lovely place and we enjoyed it as much as the first. Lovely location, well equipped, plenty of room for family to relax and have fun, lovely safe enclosed garden and the owners who live near are so helpful. Our children and grandchildren love this holiday home and even if the weather lets you down, there is enough room inside to have fun. Lots of places to visit nearby, with Sidmouth and Lyme Regis being two favourites. We would love to visit again, but sadly our family have now outgrown the four bedrooms. We would highly recommend to anyone.

It was great to host you and your family once more and such a shame the family size has out grown the property

“Lovely once found”

Our party of 7 enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. Very comfortable and well equipped. Set in a quiet location with a lovely garden and surrounding area. A pity the weather wasn't better to enjoy them more. Our two main niggles were that it was hard to find. The sat nav sent us up and down the neighbouring road. As time went on and the weather deteriorated, we were getting desperate. Tip - follow directions to the kitchen place. The internal steps were a problem for our 92 -year old. Rather difficult to see at times.

Otherwise it was a delightful stay.

“A lovely holiday house”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The holiday house was well looked after, clean, tidy and well equipped. The large enclosed garden was perfect for our little boy to play in. There were 6 adults and one child in our holiday party and there was plenty of room for us all. We had a lovely stay, thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Michael's Port. We very much appreciate your recognition that the property is clean and well looked after as we try very hard to maintain a high standard to both the inside & outside of Michael's Port. We are very pleased your party enjoyed the living space and garden.

“A home from home. You couldn't find better.”
Reviewed 27 March 2015 for a stay in October 2014

This was a last minute booking for my family and our friends. We were 4 adults, 3 teenagers and 2 dogs. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the house. It is comfortable, beautifully furnished and was lovely and warm. Everything you could need was there. It is also practical for 2 families with the living accommodation in the centre and the bedrooms at each end, so you can also have a little bit of privacy too. There was no problem with the dogs either as the living space isn't carpeted and there is a huge entrance hall with plenty of space for drying wet/muddy dogs and leaving wellies and coats. The house is just off of the A30 so easily found (far enough away so that you can't hear the road). If you are thinking of booking this house, do it you won't be disappointed!

“A wonderful property in a great location”
Reviewed 21 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Michael's Port is a superbly equipped house; every bedroom is a good size and en-suite, the kitchen is spacious and well kitted out and the lounge is fabulous.

It's well decorated with beautiful wooden furniture and fittings throughout, the beds are comfortable and it has everything you could need - dishwasher, tumble dryer and washing machine. Free wireless Internet access is provided for those who can't bear to be parted from their laptop for a week like me.

The location is excellent with Honiton just down the road providing a Tesco as well as other shops and restaurants, and numerous other places to visit are no more than a 20 minute drive. Even Dartmoor was only 40 minutes.

The only thing I felt was missing - and this is my personal preference for a winter stay - is an open fire or wood-burning stove which would just finish off the cosy country feel.

One downside (very minor) is that the building itself blocks your view to the right when getting out onto the road so be very careful. A mirror in the hedge opposite would fix this but as long as you inch out slowly and listen for traffic it's not a problem.
