“What a find!”
Reviewed 2 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We arrived to home made chocolate cake with our afternoon tea on the balcony of this beautifully appointed suite, then walked through the magnificent garden it overlooked. After coming back from dinner we enjoyed a hot spa bath before sleeping so comfortably. Then a superb breakfast. What a find! We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

“A comfortable, well-appointed cottage in a glorious garden”
Reviewed 15 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We very much enjoyed staying in Bradleys Garden cottage. The cottage is meticulously cared for and comfortable and overlooks the most beautiful garden-it's worth staying there just to be able to walk through the many garden 'rooms' and enjoy all the work Melana and her husband Simon have put into making Bradley's Garden a very special place.
We had travelled the Forgotten World Highway and it was a pleasure to have somewhere so nice to stay just out of the town of Taumarunui.

“Best accommodation in Taumaranui”
Reviewed 19 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

If you need a place to stay in Taumaranui look no further. This place is absolutely delightful. I stayed one night on a work road trip arriving late and leaving early the next day but wish I could have stayed longer. The host was very friendly and great communication. The accommodation had beautiful decor and the setting was very private. This is now my home away from home for my next trip - will have to bring the wife next time to show off. Thanks for making my stay away as comfortable as ever. Oh and the bed was so comfy I am getting one the same for home. Cheers

“If you want somewhere classy to stay, travelling with your dog, this is it.”
Reviewed 1 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

A comfortable, stylish cottage, separate outdoor spa room, 5 acres of lovely garden, excellent home cooked food and congenial hosts - what more could you want? Close enough to the volcanoes, Lake Taupo and the Wanganui River attractions and the well behaved dog can stay too, making friends with resident dog Tui.

“Tranquil oasis in Taumarunui”
Reviewed 21 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Staying at Bradley's Garden B&B is like stepping into another world. The cottage is a delightful mix of old and new - and each item looks like it has been specially selected for the room. When we were there the weather wasn't wonderful, but we felt snug and warm inside the cottage. Its secluded location is perfect for countryside peace and quiet. We wandered all around the garden, which opens into new and unexpected 'rooms' and marvelled at Melana's eye for detail. We also tried out the spa pool, which was welcome on an unseasonably cool night.
Not knowing where to eat in town, Melana offered to provide us dinner on the first night. It was delightful, and she even managed to hunt out a Hawke's Bay red for us to drink with it. The breakfasts were tasty and filling - we had planned a day on the Forgotten World Adventures Rail Cart tours - and she was happy to accommodate our early start. An added bonus is that the cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen, so we were able to prepare our own dinner the second night. It wasn't a patch on Melana's cooking.
Although there is limited cellphone coverage in the area, having free wifi available to log on to really made a difference. We could keep up with what was going on in the outside world and share some of our adventures online with our family and friends.
Melana is a delightful host, she pays close attention to detail and we appreciated the effort she went to to ensure our stay was restful and enjoyable. She knew the other tourism operators we were going to be dealing with, and she was happy to recommend local places for us to try. We really enjoyed our stay at Bradley's Garden B&B and we would highly recommend it to anyone considering staying. It is an unexpected jewel hidden along the Forgotten World Highway.

“The only place to stay in Taumarunui!”
Reviewed 11 January 2014 for a stay in November 2013

Bradley's garden B&B was a delight to stay at. We had just completed the Timber Trail and were exhausted when we arrived at 7pm. Melana Bradley was unfazed by our late arrival and our sudden desire for an evening meal. A wonderful meal arrived within the hour and after a luxurious soak in the private spa pool we slept soundly in the serene peace of the countryside. Birds woke us in the morning and we enjoyed a very welcome cooked breakfast on the terrace overlooking the garden. We strolled around the garden for at least an hour, and were enthralled. The 5 acres have been divided into many discrete areas, each one with a different theme to the others and every area a delight to behold.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished it had been longer than 2 nights. We couldn't fault the amenities provided as the private unit is superbly appointed and maintained to a very high standard. Melana & her husband were extremely helpful in providing local knowledge for our onward cycling trip to New Plymouth; this too we greatly appreciated.
We will certainly be returning!
