“Meal for four good friends....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

We have had a couple of meals this week whilst on holiday near the Turks Head. The food was fabulous, and the service excellent! The portions were more than generous, and the blend of herbs and spices was exquisite. We would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone wanting fantastic food.

“EXCELLENT FAMILY MEAL”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

Just got home from having a lovely family reunion meal at the Turks Head. There were 36 of us and Debbie and her team could not have been more accommodating. Fast, efficient service by pleasant staff who easily coped with a mixture of A la Carte and Carvery orders. The food was excellent and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed the meal and afterwards we spent a lovely afternoon in the gardens/play area. The weather of course was the crown on the top!! Thanks once again Debbie.

“Lovely meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Had a meal at the Turks at the week end with a big group of friends and what a lovely meal we had. There was 15 of us in total and all our meals came out together and all hot and tasty. Lovely play area for kids large and small outside. Would recommend a visit.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

My husband and I visited the Turks Head Inn on Tuesday May 27th 2014 for an evening meal to test the water for a possible future booking for seven people in July. The waiting staff were polite and attentive, our order was taken swiftly and the meals arrived fairly promptly. We were asked almost immediately if our meals were ok but couldn't comment at that time as we had only eaten a mouthful. My husband ordered a mixed grill which on arrival was huge in proportion, he has a good appetite but it was too much for him and he struggled to finish it. The chips he found rather greasy and one of the fried eggs was broken and hard, not good presentation. However the meat was well cooked and tasty. I ordered liver and bacon on a bed of creamed potatoes with seasonal veg and topped with cobblers. The liver was cooked to my taste and the meal in general was pleasant although again very large. However the cobblers were burnt black on the base and so hard I couldn't put my knife into them. The waitress was very apologetic and went immediately to the kitchen and returned within minutes with three more cobblers. On collecting our plates I was asked if the second cobblers I had been served were better, they were not, to my disappointment they were the same, burnt and hard. Microwaved springs to mind. To serve something equally as bad and expect a customer to eat it is unacceptable. We were then asked if we would like to peruse the sweet menu or have coffee. At no point did it appear transparent that we were being offered any recompense, in fact when we settled the bill we were charged in full. There was no gesture of good will offered. We found the menu on the whole quite expensive for a pub restaurant and feel a choice of portion sizes to suit all appetites at reduced prices would be advantageous.

“Great Carvery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014

My first visit to The Turks Head although lived in Weymouth for 15 years and certainly won't be the last. We had the carvery and thoroughly enjoyed it,followed by two scrummy deserts. Good size portions and pleasant staff it was a weekday lunch time,so not overcrowded but quite a few people there and good service. We will return
